So LSU could celebrate some moral victory?

There's nothing cheap about it, this is how things are done. Just about every assistant at every school has a contract that runs through March for exactly this reason. Gives them about a months salary to land on their feet. The coaches and the kids know the score, and it's discussed in plenty of livingrooms. Every year kids are told commit to the school, not the coach. The timing of this shouldn't shock anyone, and lots of other schools will be doing the same either today or tomorrow as coaches jump on and off the carousel.

That doesn't make it not cheap.
And we can always say "commit to the school, not the coach", but that is so much easier said than done.

It's the way things are mostly done in that profession, with the main exception of head coaches and coordinators.
As an almost universal practice, firings and hirings usually occur after signing day.

then why not keep Peveto on staff?
he, somehow, was our best recruiter
he, somehow, was our best recruiter

I hate how LSU is so late in getting out in front of things
The miles debacle in 2015, the Florida situation, now this.
Even when we have good reason to do something, we are a day late and dollar short in getting to the media, and the narrative has already been written. We have to get better with that.

not sure we know all the details to judge this move yet

Say what you want about les but this shite never happened under him. Not a good sign imo

look. You dont perform at (insert certain job function), you get fired. This isn't the pussified corporate world where you have to get written up and counseled 300 times before you can get terminated. These 2 were obviously not doing the job the way it was expected to be done. So....you get fired. thats how it works. nothing suspect about it. quit being pussies

Can't argue with that logic.

Most of these coaches are being evaluated based on who they sign. If you don't evaluate them after signing day, when do you do it?

OK he was a horrible horrible coach and should have been shite canned at the end of 2015.

and getting paid a substantial amount of money for it.....

He tries to keep him till After signing day. Peveto decided not to

However.....suspend every one of those frickers.
Only Dee Anderson made what could be considered a critical comment of the remaining staff. One of those frickers you want suspended is Guice.

quote:What the hell are you talking about? I never said there wasnt a good reasoning for the firing, but LSU has been piss poor with public relations recently. We get our fricking arse kicked with the media constantly, even in situations in which we have the moral high ground.

Yeah so horrible he accumulated the second most wins in lsu history and a national title. Gtfo, retard
Posted on 2/2/17 at 4:00 pm to Wayne Campbell
Yeah...you're correct in that his comment was the most agregious and the others could be taken as less severe.
Yes, I know it was Guice. He has the same twitter handle as his screen name here when he used to post here. And I don't give a shite. There is no player bigger than the program. Period.
