Stevens - #1 safety. Thought he'd have early impact.

He'll get there, give him time. He's a fantastic athlete, he just needs to find his niche.

Nobody’s said Russell Gage yet?

Gage was a beast. Looked like he was having fun playing

People have to remember that the kid wasn't solely a FS in HS. He needs to learn the nuances of the position.

Personally, it's why I didn't like the position carousel they put this kid through.

had someone told me that Gilmore, Lacotoure and Corey Thompson would all have 6+ sacks each this seasons, i would have laughed very very hard

Corey Thompson should definitely be on this list. That kid (or should I say old man?) balled out this year.

I agree. I'm not down on the kid. I just figured he'd be in there making plays early. A lot had to do with quality and experienced players in front of him. I hope he keeps grinding and doesn't get discouraged.

Hard to say. There was marked improvement across the board as the season progressed. Lots of pleasant surprises.

Hell, I knocked Donny Alexander hard and he improved down the stretch.

I'm going with greedy though. Consistent all year

Greedy Williams, then Russell Gage.
Most impact was Devin White but not a surprise.

You just listed very sought after players coming out of high school.

Sorry, this team underperformed to start the year.

My answer to the op is def Gage. After that ball came off his helmet I felt he had no business playing offense any more.

Dw and RG.

We must have watched a different DJ play this year. He was ok, but he isn't even close to a T White type player. He should come back but he won't.

THIS. CEO might not have kept his job if it weren't for this guy. Great player and I hope an NFL team sees his value and gives him a shot.

They tried to get him on the field. Not hard to understand. Some guys were just ahead of him this year.

Dude was a safety who wound up basically playing DE for a big part of the year. I'm gonna go with him, Lacoture, and Gilmore. Those dudes not only played over their heads, they were incredibly dependable. Lac and GG barely came off the field all year long. We talked mostly about OL depth this year, but out DL depth was atrocious early on. Herron was suspended, Key was hurt(though technically an OLB), Alexander was too fat to stay on the field, and Logan just isn't ready yet. Those 2 dudes in the middle showed up big time.

That's why it pisses me off sometimes when I read that after the Bama loss, the season was a waste, there's nothing left to play for, get the younger guys on the field, etc....You go tell Christian Lacoture and Greg Gilmore and Corey Thompson and Darrel Williams Russell Gage that this season was a waste, that they came back for nothing. That the Tennessee, Arkansas, A&M, and bowl games don't matter. That if you didn't win the national championship you may as well have not played the season.

His highlight performance was against Auburn where he broke up like 4 passes in the second half.

I really can't think of any plays that DJ gave up this year. I'm sure he had some balls completed on him underneath but this kid didnt give up much this season.

There were entire games where the opposing QB didnt even throw his way.

Not saying DJ is a good as Tre White, cuz I dont think he is, but he was VERY good this year.

Donte was awesome this year.

Last year gave me no reason to believe Gilmore could be so solid this year.

Greedy showed an uncanny knack for interceptions.
