Nope, make Florida come to Baton Rouge on Nov. 19th if they want to play so damn bad. Otherwise then can go to hell.

The real world where we force Florida to forfeit?

Arkansas' response in this option will be the biggest hurdle, but it isn't insurmountable. Making the SEC pay the true game costs for cancelling USA and Presbyterian seem much more unlikely to me. With Sankey giving that one family BS during the interview with Gary today further supports this. But to your point I don't see Sankey strong arming anyone into any decision. This will play out amongst the ADs

You aren't hearing me. The real world where we don't lube up and roll over. The real world where LSU fans aren't full-on Stockholm Syndrome sufferers. The real world where we force their hand instead of them forcing ours. The real world where we let them lie in the bed they made. This is not a world I think you understand.
We should play the rest of our schedule. If UForfeit wants to make concessions that benefit us, we should listen. Otherwise, that ship has sailed. Let the SEC live with the havoc they created.

I could live with this - but it pains me that UForfeit comes out smelling like a rose and gets to play us after getting healthy.
I think Arky will balk.

Oh god. Just realized this would mean I'd miss my last ever home game as a student. It was supposed to be an away game so I already have travel reservations and game tickets to see UT-WVU (Where my brother goes) in Austin. My dad would have my head if I missed that game. They already spent quite a bit on that. frick. frick. frick.

Why does LSU always have to be the one to take the high road? If LSU does it right, it won't be a pissing match! But we have every right to call them out publicly and demand concessions from them.

I wonder what we could get from the conference? God I would shite myself if the SEC allowed us to not be picked by CBS for a day game while we're at home. Or at least give us the option to skip it even just once a year.
Posted on 10/8/16 at 11:45 pm to jlovel7
We aren't going to have a CBS day game this year.
So that's fun.
So that's fun.

Florida created this mess, let them figure it out and foot the bill.
100% agree.
Screw 'em. We offered several options, all were shot down.

If it creates chaos in the SEC
It's already started. For us and Tennessee, to be sure. That could very well be just the start.
If Sankey is too scared to make a freaking decision for the entire SEC (which is what the case sure seems to be) then he needs to be removed from his position.
He's the SEC commissioner, a regulating body for the entire conference and he hasn't done squat in this fiasco. Absolutely nothing but blow hot hair like a damn politician.

You think the Ole Miss game will be a night game? I'm really asking.
For some reason, I have a feeling it'll be a CBS game. We haven't been on CBS yet, TN will be on next week (that'll be 2 weeks in a row CBS did a game with TN).

Bama-A&M is a lock to be the CBS game that day.

Maybe if the SEC gives them the $1.5 million they would have had to give South Alabama to cancel with LSU would change their minds?

Ahhhh, good call. I wasn't aware they played the same day.
That makes sense.
Thanks.

A&M @ Alabama is that weekend. Good chance both are undefeated.

I think it would only take giving Bert a cheeseburger to make it happen.

I have a great Libertarian friend. I tell him I prefer his world. It doesn't exist outside of position papers and philosophy books of course, but it sure sounds great. You understand it's not you I have an issue with, right? It's certainly not your idea of how it should be scheduled. It's that I lack faith in the SEC and these schools to do anything that is not nakedly self-interest-oriented. It's 40 years of observation versus your great idea.
