LSU/aTm is at 6:30. NFL game is at 7:30.

It's smart. They try to gain a viewership for an hour before the NFL starts.

which they might be ok with, because it doesn't really matter if it selects a week later or not. It also doesn't mess up bowl selection pushing back a week since bowls don't start until later or at least the ones with teams from major conferences.

You should apply for the SEC commissioner position or AD position as you only have 1000 times more sense than those guys

is it going up against NFL game in the same time slot? I haven't looked that far ahead but if its just going to mainly be LSU and ag fans tuning in vs a NFL match up it might be easier to get them to budge on it.

There are NFL games going on all day on Thanksgiving, but LSU-A&M is scheduled for 6:30 CT, so it would mainly go up against Steelers-Colts at 7:30.

Put your application in with the SEC office. They need someone like you.

I'm just trying to take a look at some realistic scenarios to get the LSU/Florida game played, and this is the one I keep coming back to.

Look I appreciate that you are thinking outside the box. I just don't think that any scenario that has that many moving parts concerning schools that actively wish misfortune upon each other has a chance in hell of succeeding. One thing that is clear to me is that if it is not EXTREMELY PAINFUL to UForfeit and the SEC office, we will see it again in the future. This needs to stress them to the point of exhaustion to avoid a replay. Sankey has earned a "no confidence" vote. This was his first test and he wilted under the pressure. And instinct tells me he will compound his error by doubling down for UForfeit.

LSU made every effort to accommodate FL in moving the game to BR, neutral site, delay game to SUN/MON, neutral site and still the knothead at FL sticks his head in arse for some unknown reason and refuses to budge.

I agree with your sentiment. A forfeiture is the most reasonable, fitting and deserved conclusion because Florida flat out AND unjustifiably refused to play.

Now we move into less sensible territory rescheduling as many as 6 teams' schedules in order to compensate for Florida's refusal. Somehow Sankey, who couldn't figure out how to schedule sufficient security personal for this weekend's game, is expecting to pull of this scheduling masterpiece.

Yes, the solution posted by the OP does seem to be the most sensible. And no we haven't had success beating Bama on bye weeks, but that was obviously with Les Miles. Personally like to see what Bebe can do with that extra week of prep.

It baffles me that people are coming to this conclusion.

It's not reasonable. At all. And it will never, ever happen.

LSU and Arkansas have the same bye week. Move LSU @ Arkansas up to October 29th.

LSU @ Florida on November 19th in Gainesville.

South Alabama @ LSU on November 12th. South Alabama's has a bye on November 12th.

A well thought out reasonable scenario. Something not usually seen here.

Screw FL Demand forfeiture of the game

Typical emotional response with unrealistic expectations, usually seen here.

Bayou your scenario has more moving parts than others suggested but may be the best case scenario from LSU's perspective.

It is some moving parts, no question.

But if you look at it closely... South Alabama just switches their bye week around one week, and still makes a trip to BR.

Florida has a home game scheduled on November 19th. Now it would be against LSU instead of Presbyterian. Nothing really changes logistically.

The biggest change would be Arkansas moving a home game from November 12th to October 29th. I'm not understating how difficult this could be, but I do think it is a reasonable suggestion.

I don't think forfeiture can be considered reasonable in any fashion from the league's point of view. I get it. We all saw what Florida did. The league gave them cover with this "postponed" status. Forfeiture will not happen no matter how hard you stomp your feet.

If we "demand" a forfeiture, we would look like children. Just how Florida's administration looked when they canceled the game with no real tentative plan.

Just because someone flings shite at you doesn't mean you should fling shite back.

We should be grown-ups here and handle this situation with class and make it work. Because that's what LSU should be about.

I'm all for asking for UF to forfeit.

But no, it isn't going to happen and it would only be a positioning/negotiating tactic.

Such as, UF turns down the first 2 options proposed, then you propose it. If you get lucky and it isn't discarded immediately, then those first two options aren't so ugly if you're Foley.

It's only a means to an end by decoy method and artificially creating pressure.

I agree. Assuming USA and Presbyterian will do what we ask because they need big money now and in the future, Arkansas will be the biggest hurdle. Just hope the SEC front office sees this as an option.

I don't think arky moving the game would be all that difficult since its their stadium and almost no college team ever has any events at their stadium during the season.

Also since Sankey is the commissioner he could force arky to make the move. they probably will be against it due to not getting us after bama.

USA probably wouldn't have an issue with it. they get their payday and we probably have the sec to pay for all their expenses to get here.

Arky moving our game would be much easier than moving the WLOCP for two reasons: It's at an on-campus stadium instead of a neutral site, and TV schedules are not yet set for the LSU-Arky game. South Alabama coming to BR a week earlier won't be a big deal at all.

That's a really good suggestion BayouBengals03.

Anyone who thinks Florida will be forced to forfeit this game is dreaming.

Sankey screwed up but there is nothing LSU can do about that now.
