PLEASE have this thread stickied and tell me someone has sent this to Dandydon and other LA media outlets?

Of course, move A&M to Saturday, but that's not a deal-breaker imo

Now, if we get UF to switch to death Valley would we have to go to Gainesville next year? I feel like that would Frick the schedule up

In thinking about this, I agree that this is a workable solution.

However, I think it might be more likely that they play the game on 3-December and delay the SECCG to 10-Dec. Some years, the SECCG is as late as as 7-Dec, so this year delaying it does not push as close to the bowl games. The fans have not bought tickets nor made hotel reservations for Atlanta yet, and it's nearly 2 months away so every one has time to adjust and prepare.

People keep mentioning this but it is absolutely never going to happen. Zero percent.

The entire playoff and bowl selection process for the entire country would have to be delayed.

There is a better chance of the 11/19 double header in Gainesville at 11 and S Ala in BR at 7

OP has cracked the case. This is by far the best, easiest, and most fair solution. Even Arkansas could benefit catching a bye before their two game road trip to end the year.

I would not even be opposed to sharing some of the gate with Ark from the S Ala game to compensate them, and UForfeit should do the same from the LSU game.

Make it happen Sankey. Don't be the huge pussy the entire sports world thinks you are at this point.

Larry, with all due respect, you're tripping if you think a forfeit is gonna happen. Commish put his stamp of approval on this postponement, he is the sec.

He gave Florida permission to not play this game, using a possible natural disaster as backup.

This is not on Florida, even as cowarardly as they were.
it's on the SEC.

It does make sense, but I still think that Arkansas can refuse it all. Thousands of arkansas and florida fans have already bought tickets and reservations for fayetteville for the proposed weekend. They won't move that game.

HOWEVER

The majority of the fans that attend the SEC Championship game have not purchased airfare for Atlanta for the weekend. And this is a game for which the SEC has ultimate authority. There are not home universities to convince or inconvenience.

This solution would be great for LSU but a terrible injustice to Arkansas, and I don't see how they could accept it. They would be asked to trade a very favorable date for their LSU game (catching LSU the week after LSU plays a very emotional and physical game against Alabama), and in return they get to play a killer five game stretch that no team would want to face (Alabama on 10/8, Ole Miss on 10/15, Auburn on 10/22, LSU on 10/29, Florida on 11/5).

Arkansas would have to be compensated in some way, I agree.

It wouldn't move the Florida/Arkansas game.

This is not an option via what I heard yesterday on sports radio ... guess the Dome isn't available? They didn't give a reason as to why. Just that it was NOT an option/possibility.

UF should have to pony up any money that is to be given to a team for compensation. They started this shite ... either them or the SEC should pay whatever and NO OTHER TEAM should be out any money.

The Dome might not be available. I'm not sure.

The Falcons are actually home the Sunday after the SEC Championship Game, and away the following Sunday. However, I think the reason for not wanting to push the championship game back a week is because it would throw a wrench in the college football playoff and bowl selection process.

Emailed to LSU athletic department.

But honestly, I'm fairly certain this idea has come up in LSU/SEC meeting rooms. It has to have, right?

Given the intelligence of Sankey, Foley, and Alleva, it's doubtful.

You may want to email it to the SEC lol. Or to every SEC school ... SEC and UF on second thought won't like it.
