PJ held down the middle for sure, but damn, what a random abstract throwback name you pulled out the hat on a Friday afternoon

That whole OLine was amazing when you think about it. We were the most 1 dismensional team in the country and we still managed to run the ball effectively on everyone except one team.

Was in the same business class with him in fall 2011, taught by Tim Chandler. Good guy, though his attendance was sparse. The professor didn’t seem to mind, that team was incredible that calendar year

That was basically the hallmark of the Les Miles era.
GREAT line play, and great running backs.
Man up, tell the defensive line you were about to push them around, and then do it!

It was oklahoma Drill, with a random pass play mixed in every now and then.

GREAT line play,

Other than the Saban talent he inherited, we never had great line play under Miles. It was always the weakest unit on the team.

When they beefed up Dillion Gordon to like 310, you knew that dude was becoming an extra tackle

Safe to say that was the QB room.

Well, you’re right. Offensive line was usually the second worst group. We generally had NFL talent at RB, WR, DL, LB and DB. We usually had very good kickers and punters. Even though we usually had a good running game, we put very few offensive linemen in the NFL and had some who should have been at SLU (like T-Bob).

Our running game success was due to great coaching and probably an inordinate amount of practice time spent on that at the expense of the passing game. But when we faced defenses with NFL talent the game moved to our backfield.

Nobody beat Doug Planchard at hoisting trophies. Still the king.
