Thatcher Hurd and Loer are going to eat.

I wouldn't be shocked if jay started Hurd one last time

I hope Ol’ Miss is as depleted as we are.
We aren’t depleted we just don’t have consistent arms. It’s insane that the list of arms left can’t put together 9 innings for a W.

AcK - 3
Dutton - 1
Ulloa - 2
Anderson - 2
Thatcher - 1
Moffett - 1
Loer - 1
Guidry - 1
Herring & little could also get you a couple of outs in a jam.
There's plenty of pitching today. Just need the bats to come through.

It doesn’t matter. This is everyone on deck, each to get one batter or go one or two innings. If one of them magically goes four or five that will be an unexpected benefit.
The key today is for CJJ to have plans for high leverage situations, because there will be a lot of them. It makes sense to me to start a guy like Dutton and hold your best arms to get the Duttons out of their jams. In this way we can stay out of the big innings.
Oddly, game 3’s haven’t played out that way for LSU this season, but it’s still the smart play.

We are not depleted of pitchers. Everyone but Jump and Holman could pitch if needed. SEC tourney starts Tuesday, so we might not see much of Little or Herring. Butt we use them if in a close game.

Wish I knew what was going on with Coleman, cause this would be a good time to start him. He had some control issues but not enough to disappear like he has.
I would probably start Ack or Anderson. Would lean towards Ack and have Anderson start Tuesday since he is used to starting mid-week games.

Same. I was wondering if he had plans to start Anderson Tuesday.

I don’t think the SECT starting Tuesday has any effect on who pitches today. History shows that it doesn’t really matter what you do in the SECT. This is a must win game and Jay will pitch that way.
Imo, I think everyone has a very short leash. If someone gets you multiple innings that’s a plus. I’d be surprised if anyone saw the full lineup twice.
This team has to figure out how to plate runs today.

Agree, but if it is a close decision between the two, then keep Anderson on his rotation. A win today probably gets us in, but not guaranteed. A win today and Tuesday makes us a lock.

Shores makes his debut with a no hitter.

Speaking of Shores.
Anyone heard anything regarding Shores or Noot? I’m assuming neither will see time at this point. Odd Noot threw only once and we haven’t seen him again.

Guidry is the best closer we have…by far!

This won’t be a popular opinion but I think he starts Hurd. He will be on a short leash

I think Anderson may start in SEC tourney on Tuesday. I doubt Jump starts Tuesday.
Jump better start on Tuesday. He will be on four days rest and that is a single elimination game. Too risky to not start your best pitcher and make it to the double elimination part of the tourney. That would also make Jump available to start on Sunday, if you make it that far. Not saying they would care enough to win it all, at that point, that they would throw him, but the option would be there.

Gotta be Ack and let him go as long as he can. Then Dutton then the kitchen sink
I think it might be this in reverse

If you win today and get the held you need, the sec tournament likely doesn’t mean much either way.

I hope you're correct - and you should be. But that's a risky proposition. I would hate to leave it in the hands of the committee being that borderline. Win today and a game or two in the tourney is a lot more comfortable than a win today and go 0-1 in the tourney. What's the percentage of a 13-17 SEC team making the regional? 38% or so? I don't like those odds a lot.

Might have 5 13-17 teams in the sec after today, which is kinda crazy
