Gilbert for when we’re up by 10 tomorrow in the ninth

That way we can trade runs for outs and still win by 7.

I don't think Taylor Petersen made the trip.

Bush is definitely not done.

He would give us some innings in a Monday game.

Fontenot will be good to go on Sunday.

Peterson is good to go for tomorrow.

Basically we're in great shape for how many injuries we've had.

Forget about Monday. LSU cannot afford to get involved with a Monday game.

If push comes to shove, I'd like to see Hilliard try to give it a go. It's shoulder soreness, not forearm/elbow pain.

No one will pitch hurt because "push comes to shove".

True. But, if he's experiencing shoulder soreness and attempts to pitch, it's going to put a lot of strain on his elbow because he will be overcompensating. Think about walking with a limp because of a sprained ankle or knee. A lot of times the non injured ankle will become sore or even injured because you're overcompensating for your injury. It's very, very dangerous to pitch with any type of soreness because a pitcher uses every muscle in his body to pitch, especially with maximum velocity.

Yeah, don't mess with it for Hilliard. If his shoulder hurts and it affects his arm slot even a little, not cool.

Thanks for this thread, btw, WaWa.

We need Hess to go DEEP tomorrow

We will go as far as he can take us. I have a feeling the umps are going to squeeze him after hearing about the zone they gave them last year.

I could be 100% wrong, but I don't think the umps the home plate ump will change his strike zone because of fans bitching. It may change a bit subconsciously, but not much IMO.

Best case is to get through the game with Hess, Beck, Peterson only. That's the only 3 available that I have any amount of faith in. I say that assuming Sanders will start game 3. Bottom line, LSU must win this game to have a chance. I don't think they have the pitching depth to survive 4 games in this regional, unless the 4th game comes after winning the first two.

This. Our offense has to step up and become a factor in these games. We aren’t going to win this regional without a major offensive contribution.

He just s gonna have 4000 fans bitching on every outside corner strike he calls. Hess will have to consistently hit the spot to get the calls. He hasn’t been that precise

Hahahaha ... such a cute little venue. I love how the announcers were trying to make it seem all intimidating. I don't necessarily disagree with you on Hess, but he's pitched in front of much more hostile environments.
