Garret edwards - relief pitcher that never threw more than 4 innings or 69 pitches

Chase shores - relief pitcher that never threw more than 3.1 innings or 73 pitches

Devin sheerin who hasn’t pitched an inning for the tigers and I doubt was over used in the fall when it happened

Grant Taylor - see above

Jayden Noot - see above

Everyone worried about Anderson needs to stfu bc they’ve never managed a pitcher over 12 yrs old. The ones that’ve got hurt under Jay’s watch weren’t because they were over used

Feel free to name more but there hasn’t been one that was affected by going over 100 pitches. Jay has used his best starters this way since he’s got here and none of them have been affected by it

ETA I was wrong to put sheerin on this list but it only better proves my point

Edwards pitched twice on the same day of a doubleheader

Game 1: 10 pitches

Game 2: 70 pitches

He Pitched final two innings with the score 14-5 in the 2nd game.

He was done two weeks later.

Idk why people all of a sudden has their panties in wad over Anderson pitching a full game. I mean my goodness other pitchers do it quit a bit. And this is great for LSU if Anderson and Eyanson could potentially start pitching full games if they are dealing. Saves the entire pitching staff. Many LSU pitchers in the past could go entire games. Why can’t Anderson?

Could you imagine if Eyanson could deal tomorrow like last week and could go even 8 innings?

Then we would have Cowan or Evans or both on full rest for Sunday to get the sweep after Shores implodes in the 3rd or 4th inning again.

135p is just not a good look for any pitcher, especially one 3 years off Tommy John in April.

And don't give me the bullshite about coming back stronger.. as if there aren't dozens out there with multiple TJs

It’s not the full game, it’s the 135 pitches.

How many pitchers have thrown 135 pitches this season? How many big leaguers threw 135 pitches last season?

I don’t think it’s a huge deal because he didn’t look like he was really stressed out there. But to pretend like it wasn’t abnormal is just being obtuse.

You’re so correct

I didn’t realize that Kade warmed up, threw an outing, sat around for a few hours, warmed up, and threw another outing.

The fact that it happened 2 weeks later still doesn’t help your argument

I can only name 4 and they all happened under Wes Johnson’s watch in 1 year. Noot, Shores, Edwards, Taylor. Maybe I’m missing something but there was a pattern.

If you looked at a graph of total pitches thrown by starters, and TJ Surgeries, the lines are inversely correlated. Pitchers used to routinely do this in college baseball. As in every single weekend.

The issue of TJ is a bigger one that is hurting the entire sport. To pin it on one pitcher going 130 pitches is crazy.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not sustainable to do this every week.

But ask yourself this, who is more incentivized to keep Kade Anderson healthy than Jay Johnson?
