That poster can't make a post without bringing up the 70s and 80s. He is stuck there, and nothing he says on this board (especially about baseball) should be taken seriously.

Still unreal how he was pitching with this dominance in College Baseball.

If you pitch six innings, and give up three runs, that's a 4.50 ERA.
Not good.

Both of you guys - Tiger1988 and Lester - are savvy baseball fans with a lot of good takes, and both of you have the same shortcoming - you post a lot. Posting off the cuff thoughts is just like hitting in baseball, you’re going to miss on some. But both of you are entertaining so don’t slow down.

Agreed on the takes but 1988s posts tend to read like they were written by a menstruating female.

He gets unreasonably angry sometimes. Most of the examples Lester gives in that earlier post are probably cases in which he lost his temper during games and posted things he doesn’t really believe after considered thought.

The Pirate bullpen did their level best to frick it up for Skenes again. Dodgers had a chance with the go-ahead run at the plate in the 9th.

I like Hilton, he has just never been what you think he is. Let’s settle for some big plays, Pennie

Sure. And I don’t care who they come from. I think that a big physical deep threat is an added tool that would be very handy, though. I remember against Bama and Clemson, when that game was dicey in the beginning, we turned to Chase and just threw it up and let him manhandle the corner. That was so sweet.

Pirate fans will be seeing another great player leaving when their cheap arse ownership refuses to resign him for market value. Hello Yankees, Mets, Cubs, Angels, Dodgers, Braves, Phillies, Astros.

This is the first year peralta has had any depth into games and it’s not that great. He is pitching over his head but his slider is decent giving him one good glove side pitch to go with his four seamer
Vegas is right. He’s the underdog here

Quality Start (QS)
Definition
A starting pitcher records a quality start when he pitches at least six innings and allows three earned runs or fewer. A starting pitcher has two jobs: to prevent runs and get outs. The quality start statistic helps to quantify which pitchers did a "quality" job in those two departments.

Origin:
John Lowe, then a sportswriter for the Philadelphia Inquirer, coined the term in 1985 as a means to gauge whether a pitcher did his job. Lowe also created another wrinkle to go along with the stat. He called quality starts in which a pitcher got the loss "tough losses." And he called non-quality starts in which a pitcher earned the win "cheap wins."

In A Call
"quality outing," "quality performance," "he was quality"

It's a term that doesn't mean anything. It's mediocrity, not quality.

And you cant make a post without bashing somebody so there's that.

Speaking of taking anything seriously related to baseball you have no room to talk. The pitching isn't as good as advertised. LMAO...
