Actually if the fans stayed the whole game they would not have to play piped in music to make it loud! Fans need to stay til the end

They play piped in music the whole damn game. Also, I stay to the end of every game. In the Mississippi State game, the loudest that stadium got was near the end of the game when the stadium was nearly empty. The losers that leave at halftime aren't the ones making noise.

I agree with lessing the piped in music but when the band has played songs outside of the traditional 1st,2nd,3rd,bandits,etc the music selection has been terrible. Last night they played the offspring and fall out boy. It was cool to hear them play anything but selections like that wont pump anyone up.

The women and children leave early. The men who bring the noise stay to sing the alma mater with the team and the band, baw. You would know that if you were there to see it.

Biggest problem is pleasing your athletes. Say what you want... But they probably requested the piped music. Fans may hate it, but that's the way it is.
If these guys need piped in music to get fired up, that's a problem in itself.

I've missed <10 home games since '87 and stayed to the end of 95% of them. Sorry that you can't accept the reality. The first section to vacate is the NW corner.

Here's the thing.

Louisiana is one of the most historically rich music locations in American history. We are the birthplace of Jazz, the Louisiana Hayride, and Cajun/Zydeco music.

I'd love for Tiger band to be much more locally influenced by interpreting some local classics and modern sounds into a big-band repertoire that represents us on the world stage. If we are a good music school, that is a great showcase opportunity.

It doesn't necessarily have to be "My Toot Toot." But, Louisiana people have rhythm, soul and passion that is unique. Our stadium sound should reflect that, and not sound like some Midwestern, Northeast or West Coast college, or worse, high school with piped in Top 40.

I agree but I do like when they play "Go DJ" when Donte is in KR.

I've been to Saints games and tons of Hornets/Pelicans games and they're nowhere near as fun as LSU games. Not even on the same level

Could not agree more.

Keep one thing in mind. What LSU is supposed to be doing is please those 102,000 butts in seats during the game; not the players. There are plenty of things to motivate them. Trying to turn Tiger Stadium into a gangsta setting is not the answer. College is about history and tradition. Let it be. If one wants the pro experience there is a shite team down the river called the Saints.

I like the piped in music during the long TV timeouts and such. My kids tend to as well.
I love our Band and the pieces they play.
I also enjoyed JSU's band as well as the USMs Saturday (didn't realize they were pretty damn good). Can't I like both?

I won't "good old days" syndrome and tell you it was better 30 years ago when I was a student, but I do have a preference for the pre-east, west and south editions as well as the absence of piped in music.

The stadium additions and style of music has made the atmosphere a little too professional in appearance and production.

Actually? Yes. Twice last year they played the opening to I wanna be the One. I lostt my shite in a good way. I also got several texts about it from friends at the game who know I'm a huge fan.
I wanna be the One.

The people bitching about the concept I can understand. But those saying it doesn't relate to the fans nor is the music for the fans are flat wrong. It's has become very popular with fans on long timeouts. Players are immersed in discussion with coaches and fans are killing time dancing or singing along.
They play everything from the Eagles to Garth to Drake. I really liked the Ballers theme last year but they killed it this season. Anyhoo it's a product of the Red Hat guy(TV money). End of story.

At the 2006 Sugar Bowl, I will always remember being pissed-off because of the piped-in COMMERCIALS drowning out both the LSU & ND bands.
The music played at TS BEFORE the game ("Looziana Saturday Night", "Calling Baton Rouge" & the Elton John "Saturday Night" video) is OK, and it's ENOUGH. Once TGBFTL is ready to play, there's no reason to hear anything else.

THIS

People here won't like it, but most fans don't want to hear the band play the same three songs during said breaks in action.
