You don't get it, there is a deeper emotional response when you play for something bigger than yourself. Your favorite song may get you hopping for a moment but the sustained motivation is not there.

Biggest problem is pleasing your athletes. Say what you want... But they probably requested the piped music. Fans may hate it, but that's the way it is.

And that was the point I tried to make. Teach the players the traditions and how to get fired up when they hear that stuff so that it becomes less about an individual and all about a team. College should teach more than just class work

I care about the players but this is a situation in which you can't let the players who are here for 3-4 years erase the history and traditions and replace them with whatever's hot on the radio tonight.

Besides, I don't think it has much to do with the players; the problem really is that the administration was upset that there was too much crowd participation during songs like Neck (STTDB), so they cut the songs with too much crowd participation and replaced it with piped in music. Now Tiger Stadium has become boring. I think the faster we put on our big boy pants and accept that there will be people cursing and the networks will have to deal with it like they deal with Houston playing Womp Womp Motherfricking Cougars or Wisconsin chanting Eat shite/frick You the faster we can get back to a real atmosphere in Tiger Stadium.

Oh and you must never like pro games especially the saints as it is all piped in!!!!

Well, yeah. I've been to Saints games and tons of Hornets/Pelicans games and they're nowhere near as fun as LSU games. Not even on the same level.

I'm starting to agree with the music. At first it was a nice change of pace, but they literally play it every second footballs not being played. They need to tone it down big time. Like someone said- play it during timeouts, reviews, commercial breaks.

They have rap music at the varsity and jv games nowadays.. it's really aggravating. If LSU wants those recruits they better play rap.

Some old NO Bounce would be good. DJ Jubilee, Hot Boy Ronald, old Cash Money/No Limit, that'll liven things up

its a bullshite atmosphere

Is the BS atmosphere created by the music or the fact that there the stadium was at less than 40% occupied at the START of the 4th quarter?

LSU fan's and TS's reputation, at this point in time, is surviving off of history.

Because the 80s rock and commercial hip hop is still relevant today. Today'a music will be forgotten in less than a decade.

They played "Cochise" when the team came out at the Mizzou game. That was solid.

White, 25, and on my second degree from LSU. I also played in the band. Go f$&k yourself. The band wants to play fun stuff that gets the crowd pumped. They want to play period (except during the 3rd quarter when we want to eat our damn sandwich), but our director has an ear piece. The athletic department tells us when we can play. They tell us what we can't play. Thos has been a major battle since Oweo was banned. The student response led to the bannings of Earthquake and Neck. It's time we let college kids be college kids and have fun. Let what made college football unique continue.

Actually if the fans stayed the whole game they would not have to play piped in music to make it loud! Fans need to stay til the end
