It was lackluster and boring the day it opened. I remember being excited to go to my first game there then walking in thinking “this is it?”

quote:I'm not sure how old you are but I have had tickets since the 80's and we were at the original Box. Yes I realize that a few fouls will clear the net, but unless you sit where I sit you may not realize that the net will prevent 90% or more of foul balls that would end up into the hands of kids.
You realize there is still no covering for those seats. Foul balls will still make it over the net.
Gone will be players or ball girls giving away balls and the vast majority of the fouls hit that way. Also gone is the ability of kids to engage their favorite players and get autographs and pictures at the wall.
Guys who say little Johnny will survive as is and still make memories with Dad have no clue. My grandson who is 16 now still talks about the time he snagged a hot lined foul ball with his glove that would have left a mark on an inattentive fan and Ben McDonald made mention of him being a southpaw with a good glove on air.
These type of things along with other long standing traditions have met their end at the excuse of player and fan safety when the new alternative was put into place.

Underwhelming. Whoever designed the new Box is a retard. All those metal seats are bush league

Just tell people you don't like Jews and get it over with. Stop parroting the TD lines about Skip. He was a fine AD.
Did Skip make every single final decision? Was he able to set the budget for it? It was ~ 40 million at the time.
I've always thought that it was set up with the ability to more easily renovate and expand. Again, Skip has been gone 18 years. Go look at Dudy Noble in 2007 and tell me it was better than the new Box.

This is why LSU is having to fix all these AB deficiencies after all these years.
