Pick 3 Cornerbacks (2022 vs 2023)

Are we better this year than we were last year?
If you’re drafting these guys, would you rather have the 3 players from 2022 or the three from 2023? Tell us your reasoning, so we can have a good discussion.
There will be four “Pick 3” posts, including the following position groups:
• Cornerbacks
• Linebackers
• Defensive Linemen
• Wide Receivers
Notes:
Laterrance Welch could earn the start this year, but I do not include him here because he is common to both 2022 and 2023 teams. These two trios are comprised of transfers.
Players were chosen because they correspond in some way (from left to right) to the other guys. Maybe they play the same position; maybe they both transferred from a small school; maybe they were/are true freshmen; or maybe they were both considered to be the #1 option.
Some players were not listed (i.e., Harold Perkins) because they will have been starters for both seasons. Some positions are not considered because they are either too similar to last year (QB, HB, OL, TE) or they are too obvious for a vote (Jack).

On paper 2023 for sure. Will see how it plays out.

I agree with that. Denver has the potential to be a true shutdown corner for us. He's more talented than any of the other 5, but as we've seen, talent only goes so far. Hope he can keep his head on straight.

Too tough to call considering how well last year played and all proven at SEC level while besides half a season for Harris, none have done it for the ‘23 guys.
Side note: Jeremiah Hughes is my dark horse starter surprise from this years freshman class. I think he ends up being the proverbial steal.

I’m just glad we have quality depth again. It is absolutely amazing how bad Coach O destroyed our DB talent, considering we are DBU and coming off that 2019 season.

I thought we are going to get absolutely torched last year and would look like the Pelini team of 2020 in coverage.
Obviously I was dead wrong. The age and maturity of last years group made a huge difference in my opinion. I think they were better than this years group, and wish we had them back. I hope I am wrong. Again.
That said, this years group, with Denver Harris alone, has more raw talent.

I seriously doubt 99% of this board has ever seen Deuce Chestnut or Zy Alexander take a single snap.

Chestnut is pretty legit.
After seeing garner and converse last year, i would obviously go with them.
I think all 3 of harris, chestnut, and alexander will be good players . Just haven't seen it in an lsu uniform yet.

22 Garner and Converse very underrated
Will see if Harris can get his act together to match his enormous talent

JBC was the most under rated piece of last years team. He was very good.
The ‘23 group has a higher ceiling though
