This is a stupid thing to say. Without citizens with national pride, you don’t have much of a country. It’s essential and if you have ever served in the military you would have a different opinion. Hell even if you had a family member that served I would hope you would have a different outlook. All that said, Nola has every right to play for Italy as that’s his choice and he is entitled to that.
Yep, tell that to the thousands that died on DDay, in the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, etc. Without national pride we have no United States. I don’t care what Nola or Duplantis do I’m grateful for those who died so I could be free.

Nola’s Italian? I always assumed it was a Louisianaian surname.

Is he not good enough to get on team USA ?

Debatable as a fifth starter, but he’s not better than Skenes, Skubal, Webb, or Ryan.

Yea I mean I get that I probably should, I just don't. I can't find it in me to care to elevate the US above other nations. Maybe it's because there are plenty of people in other countries who I like more than a lot of the people here. Maybe it's because I don't like the way we meddle in global politics so much. I'm not quite sure what the reason is.

Sure but I would never serve in the military because I don't have the national pride that it takes to go sacrifice my life over someone's political agenda. I understand there are some battles worth fighting for but the majority of them are just politics

And yet, you refuse to leave. Not that any first world country would accept you as a low skilled laborer.

I was referencing Austin Nola who just got hired as Bullpen coach for Seattle.

Dago Bloodline Baw. Travel ball parents from the West Bank to Da Parish chomping at the bits for their boys to play for Italy.

Probably almost 100 percent of the time, when a guy does this, it's because he wouldn't have made the US team

How did he not make it on Team USA?

Mondo did it because he had an actual nationality connection to that country.

No sir, he did it because the USA qualifying standards are outdated and dumb. In Italy he gets an auto bid, in the USA he is treated like he’s never won anything and has to start over.

As if the two are mutually exclusive.

I think you are both correct. Plus there is more money in competing for Sweden than for the USA, at least in pole vaulting.
