Lawrence and Fields rank in the top two nationally. Surprisingly, they have Jamie Newman as the third ranked QB in the country.

Brennan ranked 42nd -
quote:

Expectations for Brennan need to be tempered. Even with the supporting cast around him, LSU is very likely going to see a huge step back in their next season of play. What Joe Burrow did for the Tigers in 2019 was unlike anything we have ever seen — he generated 2.95 win shares, nearly six-tenths more than any other player in the PFF College era. So, while Brennan is in a position to succeed, he's just not at the level of Burrow.

The rest of the SEC QBs -

3. Jamie Newman - Georgia
16. Kellen Mond, Texas A&M
18. KJ Costello, Mississippi State
24. Mac Jones - Alabama
29. John Rhys Plumlee - Ole Miss
36. Jarrett Guarantano - Tennessee
42. Myles Brennan - LSU
48. Kyle Trask - Florida
55. Feleipe Franks - Arkansas
76. Terry Wilso - Kentucky
95. Bo Nix - Auburn
100. Ryan Hilinski, South Carolina
104. Ken Seals - Vanderbilt
111. Shawn Robinson - Missouri

What exactly has Mac Jones shown to be that far ahead of Brennan?

I would honestly not take any of these guys over Brennan.

Kyle Trask is the only SEC QB I might consider a trade for. I think Brennan is gonna shut peoples mouth early and often this seas9n.

These people know nothing about football. Between this and Mond at 16 ... I’m 100% sure of it now.

I mean holy shite

I'd say 42 is pretty good (maybe even ridiculous) for a guy who has literally never started a college game and hasn't taken a meaningful snap in 2.5 seasons. Especially when you consider he is ranked ahead of guys like Trask and Nix who have actually started multiple games and WON multiple games.

Do you think that Brennan would have started and won multiple games at this point if we never got Burrow? I am thinking we can assume yes.

Really....Really? Plumlee isn't even a quarterback. He's a running back who sometimes throws a pass (inaccurately).

Trask is far better than Guantanamo, Plumlee, Mond, Newman and probably Jones.

He has actually started and played in SEC games

I know he had two critical pick 6's vs Auburn..on the road. But he also threw for 4 TD's vs a very good AU defense (the only one who even remotely controlled Burrow last season). He then went out and played well against a decent Michigan team.

I'm not saying the guy is a future All American, but he has at least shown "something". A better question really is really "what has Brennan shown" to be ranked ahead of guys like Trask, Nix, or really anyone who has had some success (however minimal) against P5 competition?

Trask and Bo underrated, KJ overrated. Brennan in a good spot considering he doesn't really have any tape outside of garbage time.

also Kyle Trask is >>>>>>>> than Kellen Mond.

I re-watched the Florida game this week and forgot how good Trask looked against us.
