Can't one of these art majors break out the UV photo gear and determine where the painting is over the locker? Get the art/forensics/archeology grad students to pull the new paint off and reclaim the past.

Sorry guys, things have been crazy around here as I was traveling a lot yesterday. Pics will be up tomorrow! Still can't believe someone painted over the names but I can honestly say that from the people I've talked to in the Administration, nobody even knew these lockers still existed (or where the were).

Maybe we get pics today? I'm extremely curious now.

I'm gonna check out these pics and then I think I'm gonna try to go check out the locker room myself in the next few days. Do you have a pic of the door by any chance?

Sorry for the delay everyone! Things have been hectic around here but I got around to getting some pics. The amazing part about the room is that it's so unspectacular, especially since there's no mention of basketball or Pistol anywhere. It's just really neat to soak it all in and even a little creepy since it's so deserted. Enjoy!

Here's another good one:

The lockers. Sadly, every name has been painted over!

And yes, there's a toilet! The only things around were an empty can of Coke, a garbage box visible in the picture, paper towels and a paint can (which is visible in the top shelf of a locker and probably used to paint over the names). There's a very dim light on already upon entering and I couldn't find any other lighting source that worked.

Just as a side note. It's quite dark in the room so all of the other pictures are somewhat deceiving because of the flash on my camera. If visiting, it might be a good idea to have a flashlight! The main light is visible here:

How hard is it to find the door? And as noted earlier...apparently it's no big deal to go in here?

This is fantastic. I can soak in some of the history all the way through the internet. I have to go to this locker room soon. I appreciate all of the info and pictures.
There has to be a way to find out which locker belonged to Pistol. Perhaps some old pictures...maybe find an old sports reporter, LSU assistant, some way.

From the photo on page 87 of this book, it appears that he was on the far end of the room. The bench is gone now, but it seems like same end of the locker room.
Of course, that doesn't mean that was where his locker was located...he could have just been trying to get away from everyone.

That is the only picture I can find of Pete (or anyone else) in the locker room where it's completely visible. I've seen photos of Pete and Press where they're in the locker but you can't see anything else in the room. If anyone finds more photos, please let me know!
The locker is accessible via a door straight ahead and to the left of where you enter from Highland Road, but only on the dirt rodeo floor. You will see it when you get close!

Should have been a crimminal offense to paint over Pete's locker- that is an incredible piece of history wiped out...

That toilet is NASTY...there may be a Pistol Pete turd floating around in that thing.

Great pictures, thanks for posting them.
Comparing the lockers in your pics to the one in the book, it does appear that Pistol Pete's locker was the far left. You can see the corner tile in both pictures.
I wonder if I applied a heat gun to the paint, anyone think it would it peel off enough to see his name?
