So Chase knew he had a 2021 1st round draft pick lined up in 2020?

Highly overused excuse for behavior. Thrown out there because the kid is black. You have no idea if Boutte came from "poverty", but right off the bat, you use that line to excuse his actions. I don't think it is a good excuse anyway as that mentality is what actually keeps generations in poverty.

Living up to a commitment and being a part of a team and community is not predicated on whether or not you grew up rich or poor. Loyalty is not a socioeconomic issue. Gangs don't have any enrollment issues or many transfers to rival gangs for a few extra dollars.

bruh....YES!! You think they decision was just made? These boys have connections directly to NFL consultants/scouts that go into these decisions.

go to the west end of New Iberia and tell me what you think. Boutte was a little more fortunate than some.

Loyalty to your family & future is more important than risking it all for a fan base that'll crucify you when don't produce/blow a game.

Lots of delusional posters on here. With that said boutte really hasn’t given us any reason outside of rumors but at the same time I wouldn’t be surprised anymore if these athletes pull a Stingley.

So these future outcomes were all known to Chase when he quit the team?

I mean they were saying he was going to be a top pick his sophomore year.

I honestly can’t blame him. The program had gone completely to shite under O by that point. Can’t fault him for focusing on the NFL. And it worked.

So, you’re lecturing us on being upset he tried to leave? I don’t care what the circumstances are, as a fan I feel like he got his shot to shine here and I want him to stay. He doesn’t owe me shite and but i want LSU to the best. Suck it

This.
It use to be the kids loyalty also until this new generation of travel ball me me me. What can YOU give me. How can I benefit.
There’s no more loyalty to team and university and pride like the old school thinking.

Missing the point. With the environment being as toxic as it was, why are we mad at players wanting to leave? I'd want my son to leave. Heck, even Myles tried to leave too...remember?

So he hired NFL consultation before he declared for the NFL draft, knowing that would make him ineligible to play in college any further, and potentially put LSU in violation?

Sounds like a bullet dodged LSU.

This isn't really about Chase though. Very bad comparison by OP. I'm just seeing how far he'll take it.

No one said he hired anyone....lol. You think players like this don't have connections? (former players, current NFL players, scouts, coaches, draft experts, etc.).
