Defense showing up. I like it.

FOR TODAY: That's the exact opposite from what I heard from Ruffino, Tigerbait and Moscona. Ruffino, who is usally a very negative person, said Offensive Line had BY FAR with out even close the best practice they had today. Said they look like a legit OL. I will clarify again that is OLine today only looking legit from Ruffino. Not being a sunshine pumper either. I'm just a messenger from Ruffino.
Where are you hearing this because the 3 biggest LSU analyst said the exact opposite at least about the OLine which I'd assume meant good running plays. Caden Durham has busted out a 60+ yard run every practice so far I heard.
Harlem Berry should find his way, but I would honestly rather throw a 4.29 guy like Jelani Watkins or JuJuan Johnson in at RB than Kaleb Jackson. Heard he's doing same thing as last year. He's just not going to figure it out by now. It's time to close the chapter on that. Not even 3rd and 1's. I know he's our biggest back by far, but he just lacks it. No way around that. I don't see him just flipping on a switch. He got slow with poor vision and doesn't have near the ability as Durham to shed or truck tacklers despite being 230 lbs.
Jelani Watkins is Trendon Holliday, but 5 inches taller. Working him in for 10% to 15% of handoffs I think would be genius, but for some reason old coaches like BK have to do things the way they've always done them, and wouldn't ever put a 4.25, 10.01 100 M guy like Watkins at RB. Adaptability is a top 3 trait for success in life. Ask the Blockbuster founder how refusing to adapt into video streaming because 'we've always done it this way' works out.

Our D line is a lot more talented than last year! Clemsons is overrated. Especially against the run. We will dominate their line.
Yes, I keep saying a team with 3 First Rounders on the D Line has never in CF history finished 83rd or lower in defensive rushing yards allowed per game. Well, that's what Clemson finished last year. If you can point to any team that had even 2 First Rounders on the defensive line that finished 83rd or lower, I'd be shocked.
LSU averaged more sacks on defense last year than Clemson did. Did you think we had a lot of sacks last year? No. Wasn't bad, but not very good.
They are slightly below average at Defensive Line

To add to this Clemson finished 73rd in tackles for loss allowed per game at 5.57 allowed per game, 1st place in ranking being fewest tackles allowed per game. LSU ranked 5th which checks out from our OLine. But Clemson big uglies on both sides are by every statistic I've read slightly below average.
We will beat Son of Clem.

According to TigerBait, there were several good runs of 8 to 11 yd made by Durham and by Jackson.

Personally, I think this defense is just going to be better than people think. I'm not too worried about offense because they're still getting temporaily shutdown in practice then hit a big play if everything is not flawless on defense. This offense is too good to be shutdown. Probably more signals how good and surprising the defense will be. I am concerned about the OL though.
I say this to bc the Baylor game. Our O Line played pretty damn well. Baylor D will obviously be worse than Clemson, but it was positive in general.

The few reports I read said the OL had their best day. Could have meant it was just an average day after having horrible days but I didn’t see anybody report the offense didn’t run it with some success today.

Brad Davis needs to be replaced

I haven’t watched it since January, but I came here to mention the Baylor game too. I haven’t looked into how good their defense was but I remember being impressed with our line that was without 3 or 4 starters.

Call Bill Walsh…..
Let’s set up the run game with establishing the passing game ala Joe Montana.
Problem Solved !!

Even trying to be creative and use formations and schemes that the defense hadn’t seen up to this point, we still got stuffed. Different team, same problem.
Hey wait, I thought new TE Coach Alex Atkins (That got fired at Florida State) was supposed to fix all the dysfunctional running game problems.......

The offense will be fine but they are going to get their shite pushed in by that Clemson d line
Brother if this happens then I guarantee you the offense will not be fine. As a matter of fact it’s going to be a 3 hour long nightmare for the offense if this happens.

That does it.
LSU should just forfeit every game right now and discontinue the program, for good measure…

Both the first and second team offenses struggled to move the ball against either defense. Neither offensive line could generate running lanes for the running backs. Sophomore tight end Trey'Dez Green failed to haul in a walk-in touchdown grab and was called for holding on what would've been a touchdown for senior wide receiver Zavion Thomas.
I do remember 2019 LSU Defense players interviewed and they were like "man do we suck" because they could not stop the offense.
While we don't have a 2019 coming, perhaps it's much of the same here. We've improved in the secondary which is making the passing game less effective, giving us more ability to key in on the run. You have both experience and raw talent on the DLine with two of the best LBs in the nation backing them.
Maybe our D is just better than we have seen in a while.

Nah, we’ll score. The question is will our offense turn the ball over. If not, we will contend.

Anyone who has ever watched football.
There’s only one other team in college football history that can say they have had as dominant of a season. That’s 01 Miami.
That’s it. You’re not seeing 2019 LSU again. That was as good as it gets. If you want to keep dreaming, go for it.
