Can anyone put this in layman’s terms?
Boosters/Collectives paying HS recruits is still, and always has been an NCAA Violation. New task force being assembled to educate and investigate.....

How Riley and his goons haven't been investigated is beyond me. He did the exact same thing last year with Tennessee in regards to tampering. Looks like Pitts guy is gonna make a fuss though. It's so blatant that it's impressive.

College leaders are gearing up to issue a warning to hundreds of wealthy boosters who are using name, image and likeness (NIL) ventures to involve themselves in recruiting.

I’m fine with regulations, but I hope everyone understands this affects us as much as everyone else.
I suppose the worst case scenario is things can go back to how they were. I’m fine with that.

I’d like to see what BK could do with LSU with the way things were. Unfortunately, things will never go back to the way things were.

Not completely, no. But in regards to recruiting it might. If they’re going to go after boosters using NIL to recruit, they’ll just go back to recruiting like they were.
But the transfer portal the way it is, college sports will never go back to the way it was. No doubt.
Everyone is slamming aTm, and rightfully so. Everyone has to keep up with them. It’s what basically caused us to be so reactionary when it comes to NIL. Them and Alabama. This task force will probably only prevent schools from doing their shenanigans in the future. I think everyone has blood on their hands this past recruiting class. If they do go after past violations, I hope they don’t look at EVERYONE.
I just feel like schools are going to claim ignorance and confusion.

He truly does sound like a stuttering hillbilly fool. I don't know how anyone can listen to him talk and still take him seriously.

I'll go ahead and save everyone some time:
Any required changes will have the usual exemptions. The blue bloods/media darlings will still do whatever they want, while everyone else will have to follow said "rules".

The NCAA will not exist in its current form including loss of control of football by 2025.

NCAA is scrambling trying to put all the worms back in the can.
No they aren’t. They wanted the first cycle or 2 to be the Wild West so that the schools and public would welcome their regulations. If they tried to regulate it from the jump, everyone would say they were limiting the earning potential of the athletes for selfish reasons.

Booster will just pay recruits and players behind the scenes like they have always.
Duh
It was never going to go away. Boosters do what boosters do. They “support” the program.
Nil just means they don’t have to give as
Much under the table but they market dictates what it’ll take to get a kid just like it always has

what can the NCAA do at this point? they have no control over this
Posted on 5/4/22 at 8:44 am to Tiger4life33
Boosters funding star players and then demanding their star players get playing time, undermining the leadership and organization of the team...
A beautiful example of ironic system correction, addressing where Individual > Collective hurts both the individuals and the collective.

The NCAA doesn’t want to actually do anything. They just want to try and scare people into hiding shite better.
Posted on 5/4/22 at 8:55 am to Tiger4life33
I thought NIL is a legal opinion. I guess the NCAA can “try” to regulate. I just see it going straight back to court. I am surprised they are still requiring the players go to school first before the NFL and NBA.
