His height. His batting gloves. His voice. And 2010.

Just in this thread alone you have....

He over uses his pitchers.
He doesn't know how to manage his pitchers.
Our hitters had a horrible approach at the plate.
And obviously, he didn't win the CWS.

No. I meant 2010. 2011 was an abortion by the NCAA. 2010 was just sad.

Meh, Ranaudo being hurt had a lot to do with that. Trey Watkins fricking up his elbow too.

ETA: Matty Ott being a babyback bitch also was not ideal.

Wait till next season. We will be replacing our starting C, 2B, SS and RF, all of whom contributed greatly this season. We will also be replacing all 3 starting pitchers. So by LSU standards it will be a down year.

We will still likely be in the mix in the SEC West and contend to host a regional. Let me repeat, this will be on a "down" year by LSU standards.

There will still be posters that want him fired after the first loss of the season and blast him for not winning the college world series next year though.

We all talked in 2015 about how good that freshman class was and how 2017 would be the next real shot at a title. The Same goes here. In 2019 your juniors will be Smith, Slaughter, Watson, Walker, Hess (assuming the eligible sophs stay). We need to solidify catcher and we should be really good that year. I'm counting on Feduccia.

Everyone in this thread:
Eric Walker pitching 2 innings of the CWS, then being out for the next year, had zero point zero to do with how LSU handled him at the end of the season.

People who think we may have stretched a freshman too long are crazy. People who think it would have been nice to get another week out of Walker are crazy.

The only smart people here are the ones who say his High School coach did it, and the arm was going-out precisely on LSU's third game of the CWS no mater what.

I'm sorry for having opinions, I'll try to get in line. CPM is perfection, I'm sorry to have hinted that I may have disagreed with him on this. The Rice coaches who noticed that Walker pitched differently after 60 pitches also know nothing about baseball and should be bashed for their thoughts.

So if he doesn't pitch those 2 innings, how do you foresee this playing out?

You have to understand there is a difference between freshman fatigue (which he NEVER encountered) and a UCL tear which doesn't simply happen because of 1 week of pitching instead of resting. And you STILL haven't admitted that even if he got a "week off" that he'd be throwing simulated games anyway.

Separate the two, dumbass.

You decided to log off of your Adam Banks account and come back for more on this one??

First correct statement you made in this thread. However, it doesn't help that you are trying to be sarcastic by making it.

quote:

I don't think anybody wanted an extra week out of him if they believed he had a torn, or partially torn ligament in his elbow.

Nobody said it was JUST his high school coach. Every pitcher who pitches from the ages of 12 onto college, and beyond, run the risk of their arms failing on them. It comes with the territory or making your arm do things it's not supposed to do regularly.

quote:

CPM is perfection, I'm sorry to have hinted that I may have disagreed with him on this

You can disagree with CPM on a BUNCH of things. It's absolutely stupid to accuse him of over using pitchers.

quote:

The Rice coaches who noticed that Walker pitched differently after 60 pitches also know nothing about baseball and should be bashed for their thoughts.

If you want to post in a thread about people over using pitchers, then Rice is one of the last examples you want to use in proving your point. Unless, of course, you are trying to show examples of coaches who actually do over use pitchers.

I'm sure some of these same posters were pissed that Mainieri had elected to hold Lange out until Wednesday

Yep....there were tons of people throwing a fit because he didn't throw Poche on Monday and then Lange on Tuesday.
