How the F does Jarrett Lee "Prove Anything" when he's standing on the gd sideline?

For the limited amount of playing time that Slingblade gave him, he did pretty good. Saved a few games for LSU with his passing. If he would have been the full time starter in 2009 and 10, we wouldn't haven't had all these QB problems.

I'll say it once again and anybody that has ever played football at any level will attest to, you only get better by playing, especially at QB. JL could have been a really good one, if handled differently. (My number one complaint about Les Miles)

Hope ZM gets the opportunity that JL didn't......

I think he proved that he was the 2nd best QB and that's why he was on the GD sideline to begin with..

Guess you tuned out the Tennessee game and the critical 3rd down play v. bammerneck gumps. Besides, how could he have done anyhting at all given the limited playing time and the idiotic play-calling when he was in there. He should have audibled out of about 92% of all the plays Crouton called for him.

Was he suppose to prove something? What did JJ prove?

Exactly, How the hell is he supposed to get a feel for the game and get in a rhythm when he NEVER was given a chance to sustain anything. You can't ask him everytime to save the team's arse from JJ's ineptness. Not everyone can be Micky Guidry.

Lee was streaky, so was Jefferson. Both had their games but neither showed solid consistency. Mettenberger is a different guy, from what we know about him. While he didn't have to face nearly the competition that Lee and Jefferson faced, he was able to work out consistently throughout the year. Stats-wise, Mett had a very solid year, without the up and down that our qbs have had. He may bring consistency to the position, which would be good. He can also throw downfield, which we really need. Bottom line is that Mettenberger is different than Lee, who is different from Jefferson. Adding another hand can only help.

start. Do they realize outside of the UF game Lee really didn't prove anything this season?

How many opportunities did he get? Lee didn't even start the game following UF.

Miles didnt play lee over jj because lee is not really as good as some of you think!!! He was stuck between bad and horrible!! All you people who think that even if mettenberger comes in and is rediculously good he will not start over jj is just being a fool!!! He just didnt have the luxury of having a good qb to start!!! If lee was really good he would have been starting, if jj was so much better he would play the whole game!! If zach is a beast like so many think he will be starting by oregon!!! If it takes him a while then jj will probably start and eventually get his job taken away!!! Les miles is not as stupid as so many of you rantards think he like s his job, he likes the money he makes!! He knows how quick our fan base jumps off the TIGERS bandwagon so he will not risk that just because jj is a senior believe that!!! So mett will start if he is as good as advertised!!!!

This.

JJ sucked most of the year. . .but Lee sucked a little bit more.

the only thing streaky about Lee was his playing time

he never played enough to call him streaky.

Good gawd people. Wake up and smell the coffee. Mettlesburger/Rothlisburger what ever his name is ain't gonna see a down unless its on a clean up basis.
JJ's gonna take Miles to the promised land next year.
JL's gonna come in and remind us why JJ's the starter.
Like mentioned before hand, "THEY BOTH SUCK, THEY ARE NOT BIG TIME COLLEGE QB'S". Sorry for the yelling, but we have gone over this about as many times as the OT has mentioned PIIHB.
Things will be different after these two pretends graduate and Mettlesburger/Rothlesburger who ever he is can stay clean and take over in 12.

If u think Miles is gonna sit JJ to start Mettenberger, u must not have watched too much LSU football in the past 5 yrs...YES!!! Any other coach with a brain would play Mettenberger, but Miles is gonna let JJ continue to regress until about midseason, then put Zach in the homecoming game only to let him hand the ball off for 6 plays...at the end of the game...And, you can't argue with me bc, sadly enough, he has done this before.

Pretty accurate statement. I don't believe Miles will start Mett over JJ for a few reasons. One is that JJ came around at the end of the season and played his best ball since the Peach Bowl after the '08 season. Miles can hang his hat on his decision to start JJ first and foremost, for this reason. We'll hear the same shite for the next 12 months..."Mett has certainly played well enough in practice to deserve a chance, and so has JJ, and if that chance presents itself, I feel Mett will be ready and will play to his potential." Next question. I mean, Miles wouldn't try JL even for a few snaps until the middle of the season, and despite some of the worst QB play I've ever watched. Now that JJ will be a senior, what makes you think Miles would pull him in favor of a QB who's been around for less than a year. Not a chance.

Next year, however, he will be starting because JJ will transfer out after Mett beats him out as the starter.

Dude, where will he transfer to? I mean who would want him?

he was clearly better than jj. the stretch of like 8 games in a row without a td pass should have got jj benched

Hard to argue with this. I'm really worried that JJ will take most of the snaps next year too.
