Alabama as well.

He made 1 pass.....1 very good pass but still JJ out shone him that game.....Lee had 2 very good games-Tennessee and Florida...other than that both were meh and one could make the argument that JJs drastically better running ability outweighed what small advantage JL had passing. Neither stood out and clearly outshone the other over the course of the season and both side's adamant defenders need to take their blinders off.

He has no redshirt. It is 3 in 3 as the saying goes...

What was I thinking? I'll eat crow...I guess my hatred of the fact that Miles is still the HC at LSU has gotten the best of me...I thought Mett only played in the spring game at UGA, got kicked out, and played juco this year...furthermore, I thought u could redshirt when going from juco to fbs

NOT IN EITHER OF THESE GAMES.
JJ went through the worst 6 games in LSU history at QB. He did outplay JL in a few games because of his running but to think we win either of these 2 games with him playing the whole game is ludacris.

he was clearly better than jj. the stretch of like 8 games in a row without a td pass should have got jj benched

In what ways is Lee better? Lee threw 2 td passes in 1 game and 0 in all the others. At least JJ had 6 rushing TDs.

And 3 of them, JL led the offense down inside the 5 yd line. but good point

This proves my point. People can't even agree on who is better between Lee and JJ. Beginning of the year, it was JJ. Then Lee. Then my God why is Lee not starting. Then, hey JJ didn't do too bad; maybe even better than Lee.

Those guys are about the same. Neither is clearly better than the other. If we assume Mettenberger is better talent-wise, the OP's point is proven.

JJ didnt prove anything, either.

Les never gave Lee a shot to A)start a game B)gain momentum and timing by playing a lengthy period of time.

JJ was granted both of those luxuries. And never proved anything, outside of 1 lucky game.

This is a totally different animal. The only edge Lee has over Mett is a quick release. Lee's experience with the playbook will be a moot point as Mett will have Bowl practices, spring practices, and fall practices to even the score. That's not counting Mett, JJ, & Lee all potentially starting from scratch with a new OC. Point is Mett is light years ahead of Lee physically & mechanics-wise. JJ vs Lee =/= JJ vs Mett.

Despite Lee clearly outplaying JJ this year, it is apparent Miles was banking on JJ returning to his steady soph season form as opposed to turning the wheel over to Lee with the chance that inconsistency could rear it's ugly head (which we know, when Lee is bad, it can be horrific). Lee had to be head & shoulders better in practice and in games to unseat JJ, who was head & shoudlers better than Lee in his frosh and soph seasons.

As badly coached as Mett's JUCO team was in that championship game, it was clear that Mett was the leader of that offense and had been all year long, consistently playing at a high level. Even if Mett is only destined to just play competently in the SEC instead of the elite level he played in JUCO, Miles won't bench a leader with talent & consistency. So Mett actually has a great chance to start.

I think it's funny that all of u are arguing about the "big games" Lee came through in...here's one for you. If we didn't have Lee this year, we lose to McNeese State!!! Y'all forgot about that one, didn't ya...how many yds of offense did JJ have in that one? Less than 10 Against McNeese State!!! This argument is retarded! Both sucked! Let's hope Miles wakes up, fires Crowton, and plays Mett for the majority of the snaps next year

Lee and Jefferson are both hot and cold. The thing that separates Jefferson from Lee, primarily, is his ability to make lemonade when the OL crumbles. They both have happy feet and the core problem is the OL play. While I think the OL played better in 2010 than in 2009, run blocking is still our stronger suit.

I honestly don't know if it's the players, the OL coach, the scheme or what. If the pass blocking doesn't take another step forward for 2011, whichever of the three upperclassmen QBs plays will have to deal with an effective pass rush.

I think our line pass protected fine this year. The issue was that the QBs, especially JJ later in the year, didn't get the ball out quickly. But yeah, I would also love to see them take another step up next year.

It's kinda difficult to prepare yourself when you believe the coach will not give you a decent opportunity to excel.

Trust me, I've been there.

With Lee we threw a late interception to Tennessee which caused the need for the last minute drive..

He had flashes but JJ certainly had more. If JL would stop chunking the ball in the air off his back foot when any semblance of pressure got near him then I'd like him a whole lot more.. I just do not trust the ball in his hands at all.
