if WW had to resort to illegal benefits to get players here, was he actually a good recruiter?

Hopefully he has a strong arse moving crew hired.
Hope good things are ahead once everything is resolved.

Confirmed: There are no good recruiters in college basketball

I mean yeah he has zero reason to remain here. Especially with how LSU betrayed him I’d have been on the first flight out

Bill Self at Kansas resorts to "illegal benefits". Same for K at Duke, Calipari at UK, Pearl at Auburn, Drew at Baylor, etc, etc. That is simply how business was/is done at that level of recruiting. The best of the best prospects are "commodities" for sale/hire well before they sign with a school. That's why AAU basketball exist. It is simply a marketplace for HS prospects. Many AAU teams are funded by the shoe companies and other entities. The coaches/organizers are funded by the same. Many of the players have some sort of "handler". Agents are involved in paying the players. There are "high schools" that exist almost exclusively as basketball recruiting factories
If you think every 4-5 star player Duke, UNC, Kansas, Kentucky, etc, etc, signs hasn't received any "improper benefits", then you are terribly naïve

Love that man. Wish him nothing but the best.
Dude singlehandedly turned this program around from the laughing stock it was in 2016-17.
Thanks for giving us life and making us believe Coach Wade. Nothing but the best for him and his family. He fricked up early on here and it came back to bite him but IDGAF. LSU legend. Rid us of Alleva and F King. Legend.
There is room in my heart for 2 basketball loves. Here's to hoping Coach McMahon DAMMIT, is the 2nd.
Happy trails Coach Wade

We're in better hands now
Based on what? I hope McMahon has success, but don't think you can make that statement as of today.
