Love O, but did he not bring in Canada?
He is not infallible.

There has got to be some young and aggressive DCs out there.
Also, maybe some from NFL that can exploit mismatches.

Listening to Coach with Jordy and T Bob, it didn't seem like he's close to deciding on a DC or PGC.
I think O is going to take his time and make sure whoever is not just a great DC but is a fit for the culture he is establishing. The Canada hire taught him a valuable lesson.

All coaches have their Canada. Saban has had a few of them, and Kirby just ran off his OC after one-year.

It happens.

There's never any contact until the deal is ready to sign. It's all done through intermediaries

Bo needs to go ahead and retire or stay where he’s at with the low pressure job, or maybe do analyst work. He’s not exactly a spring chicken anymore.

One of the best DC’s in the entire NFL is still Wade Phillips. He’s damn near ancient now and still is one of the best. Age has shite to do with being able to put together and call a defense. Bo isn’t ancient by any stretch of your feeble imagination. Where the frick do they grow you clowns?

And did he not send him packing as soon as he realized it wasn't going to work?

Whoever is in charge is going to make mistakes. That's a fact. You make mistakes every day. We all do. It's the ability to fix those problems and learn from them that is key. O has proven that he is able to both. He's earned our trust.

I never said he was old, in fact I said he wasn’t old. Just because you’re not a spring chicken doesn’t mean your old. The fact of the matter is, his character sucks. He’s got no business leading young men.

I have looked up results. His total defense rankings were in the top 20 at both LSU and Nebraska. The Dakota teams that hung 50 on him this year were total talent mismatches.

To be honest, I don’t know how fond of the hire I will be because he runs so much zone and we are a notorious press man team, but his defenses are productive.

I can see O being sympathetic to this line of thought in regard to Pelini.

No...in fact...HELL NAW!!!!

Sympathy should never play a part in hiring a DC.

That said....if hes the most qualified...you hire him.

What did he do when he realized there was a mistake? He fired him immediately.

Also I’m assuming you didn’t pay attention to the Canada hiring process. He rushed him to the stage because the was the shiniest toy. Which is why he’s currently doing his due diligence.

Well Hester and Flynn are very positive about him. Hunt is talking about does Bo know how to handle the modern offense. I counter he was in the Big 12 at Nebraska till 2014 and 3 of those years he faced Big 12 offenses when they were full air-raid.

Being a head coach is quite different from being a Defensive Coordinator. As a head coach Pelini is not likely calling the game as Defensive Coordinator. No DC would want to play for him and he’d suck as a head coach trying to micro manage his team. Orgeron is a perfect example. As a head coach you have to back off and let your OC and DC do their job. So, with that being said, Pelini’s record as HC has nothing to do with his personal skill as a DC.

Bo is going to be our next DC. Everyone needs to get on board.

The players at LSU loved him when he was here. Go back and look at articles about him during that time and the quotes from players.

Trust O. He just gave us our best season ever.
