Do you have proof of this or is this an internet rumor?

Neither. There is no proof to be had b/c it isn't public knowledge. You don't have to believe me. I know my information is correct. But you know that your post is a wild arse guess about how much money they make. I'm just letting you know that you are wrong.

As an older fan it's a no brainer. Come on back and be the #1 home run hitter of all-time at LSU. Maybe win a 3rd national championship. Go down as arguably the greatest LSU baseball Tiger accomplishment wise. 1st team ALL-AMERICAN has a nice ring to it. Also, make some cash along the way. Improve your slot in MLB draft, etc. Jones has some kinks to work out in his swing for sure. He went almost exclusively to right side during college world series which is a start - I think 1 ground ball to 3rd base. Money talks in today's world so..... show him the money! I'm sure our NIL collective department can pony up if needed. Wishful thinking but you never know. Nuss is a good example.

You’re an idiot…..

If Jones decided to come back you’d tell someone to hit the road.

There is conflicting info on minor league salaries, but I think it is higher than $40k now. They raised it a few years ago. Both AA and AAA are above $50k with free housing and a per diem daily amount for food. They aren't rich by any means, but better than a few years back.

Jones might get called up if he does well in the minors.

Love Jones, but the MLB breaking balls and off speed stuff are going to be a challenge for him.

We need the power bat. We don’t have anyone to fit that right now. No one proven for sure.

Sure, but what’s best for him?

He needs more reps in the minors against better pitching without the gimme midweek games.

I love Bear, but he has some work to do to hit that stuff. He needs a couple of years.

And then an MLB team could pay him $1 next year as a bonus and he’d have to take it.

The NIL game is changing with the house settlement. The days of getting “NIL” money for nothing appear to be gone.

And yes, the figures thrown around are always inflated.

Started a thread yesterday that got wacked for some reason before I could see any responses so I’ll ask in this thread.

When does he have to make his decision? When’s the last day to sign

July 28th. But he wouldn’t have been drafted in the Top 10 rounds if he didn’t already have an idea that he was going to sign.

I hope they get this shite straightened out, the entire thing is a joke, a farce, a ridiculous idea, and it's really ruined the last bastion of high level "amateur" athletics, even though NIL has really been going on forever

Why does it matter what he makes next year? It’s a signing bonus not a salary.

I think jones at this point just needs to show a team that he can do what he is doing now against pro-pitchers

obviously he won’t hi .300 in the majorsZ

But teams still play guys who hit between .200-.250 if they can hit a bunch of home runs.

Jones needs to show
he can make enough contact for his power to matter.
