LINK

Neal 0/16

Kling 0/15

105 and 106 of 106 eligible batters. I think it’s fair to say that the lack of development from these two plus Hurd is a huge reason we are underperforming.

Neal has much higher ceiling as hitter in my opinion. Keep trotting him up there. Other dude ………

It’s like Kling swings with eyes closed. He’s pretty bad.

These guys were pinned as the future of the program, and likely why Jay didn't go out and get that much help from the portal. They were supposed to make that jump in development, and that's what is killing this lineup.

Not sure I agree with this or that any sort of statistic backs this up, but even if it does, at least Kling is very good defensively. Not saying it’s a reason to keep him out there indefinitely but I don’t think he should be getting way more flack than Neal, who has been unable to hit the ball for a year now.

Theyll probably make that jump late this season. Question is if itll be too late or not

Gonna have to be a big jump from being sub .200 hitters.

Both of these guys were supposed to be “middle order bats”

It’s no wonder LSU’s struggling every other inning to put runs on the board

Kling is just in a blender. He’s pressing way too hard. That goofy little show bunt trick he tries to do almost always puts him in a 2 - strike count. I don’t know that he will materialize to what we expected but he’s also not near as bad as he’s been. This team needs Kling to hit.

I’ve seen Neal (as well as a few others) change their 2 strike approach since the FL series

These guys along with jones were the guys Johnson was banking on to take a leap & theyve been zeros

Good to see Kling scorch the ball last night but he is still falling over, Neal does the same thing just less exaggerated

Wild considering how high they both were coming out of HS. Kling the highest prospect to make it to a campus and Neal coming was a shock to most as well. I’m banking they both figure it out just hopefully not too late.

Kling is an elite defender for both teams. He takes out from them and gives outs to them

Yeah if Jay knew Kling and Neal would perform this poorly he would’ve attacked the portal differently. I don’t think you will see him bank on that again.

It’s a mental issue for both of them. Kling is up there trying to swing for the fences every at bat and Neal is guessing at pitches. Like someone else said they will likely turn it around but will it be too late in the season when they do? Frey looked really uncomfortable last night too.

Maybe Kling should try hitting from the left. Not like his numbers could get any worse.

That sophomore class of position players — except for Jones — has left a huge hole in the roster:
Kling, Neal, Frey, Russell, Paul
And Guidry came in as SS

If a coach knew what the future held of how players would perform in the future, he would never get beat

Kling is only good for three outs on most nights. By the time his 4th at bat comes around, he's already been taken out for an offensive upgrade. Because we're trying everything we got to manufacture 1 run.

But they will probably be starting today at lead off and 2 hole

Blame it on the malfunctioning calculator
