Paul Skenes speaks about his rough season and some reasons behind it

He definitely didn't look like himself this season. Lower velocity, more walks, and the times I watched he seemed to always fall behind in the count. I mentioned at the beginning of his struggles that him pitching in the World Baseball Classic had something to do with but the Rant said no way. Well folks he admits it that it definitely was a contributing factor. Paul speaks and hopefully with a good offseason and some rest he can return to his dominating self Paul Skenes speaks about his rough season

Thats a damn excuse then. He pitched a little in that, that's all. Not like it destroyed his arm. I didn't read what he said but I hope he didn't use that ad an excuse

Maybe they should limit him to 3 innings next year instead of 5. And if he has a pup, he can play fetch left handed just to make sure he doesn't overdue it.

WTF do people like you come from? Paul had two fantastic seasons and this year he didn't look the same. Guess what there was a World Baseball Classic tournment before this season. I don't know if you watched it but it was pretty much all big leaguers and professinals from around the world and it was intense. Paul's velocity and control was everything we saw from the two previous seasons during the tournament. Maybe he underestimated the toll it would take on his season simply from not doing this the previous seasons. Yet here you are shitting on a great tiger. Our fans suck

If what the op is saying is true, that just tells me he doesn’t really know what’s going on. And whatever it is, he thinks the solution is in rest and training to in the offseason.

Or maybe he's out of shape and it's throwing his mechanics off. Bc I don't believe a handful of extra innings for a mid 20s guy should take him from being a top two (Slobal) dominate pitcher in the league to a pretty average starter. Obviously I'm just a fan so I have no idea what his problem is, but using the WBC as an excuse is weak AF.

I said same thing earlier in the year maybe that was an issue, hope he gets his mojo back
