Air Force has to be proud of the job they did with Skenes for 2 years. Without that military training and discipline, who knows where Skened would be at now.

Since the end of May, he is hitting .300 with a .900 OPS. He was out for a bit but have come back with a vengeance. We are about 1/2 through and he is pouring it on.

Most dominant pitcher I've seen since Nolan Ryan.

LSU has to be proud. Great documentary on Paul Skenes
I don't appreciate that they took a cheap shot at LSU, implying that we selfishly overused him and risked his career. That's complete BS. In fact, we were more than conservative and the coaches used metrics. In the final game we just used him as a threat, and didn't even allow him the honor of throwing a few closing pitches in the championship, when he was ready to go and really wanted to.

Other programs use their pitchers like cannon fodder when the stakes are high.

Stilll, they did say we were one of the best baseball programs in the nation.

He’s had 1 good month, not a good year.

He doesn’t lead rookies in any category. He’s 14th in WAR among all rookies. 6th in the AL alone.

He’s currently about fourth out of the rookies in probably to win it.
Hitting .263 and playing unbelievable defense. LINK

There are three months left of this season and if he finishes like he is playing now he will win rookie of the year. Like I said he was out for part of the month of May.

A guy hitting .300 with an OPS of .1000 is going to win rookie of the year and probably be second team all pro.

Wyatt Langford is starting to play really good baseball and gonna make a run for AL rookie of year

He is going to win rookie of the year because he has been up all season and is having a great year. Skenes doesnt have the same impact as an everyday player IMO.

Langford and Skenes play in different leagues and there is a Rookie of the Year in both leagues.

I know that. It was a discussion earlier in the thread about ROY and how players up all year have an advantage.

If you’re building a team from the ground up, there are only two names you should start with: Paul Skenes or Aaron Judge.

I love them both. Skenes obviously for what he did as a Tiger and Elly as a lifelong Reds fan.

We all know how incredible Paul has been since his call-up.

Elly is flat out amazing as well. I’ll let the experts debate who the actual current best player in the bigs is but he is hands down the most electric. So fun to watch.

Burreauxx is unimpressed. Skenes needs to win every single game he pitches in. Enough with the no decisions, lol
