Only 8 teams went further than LSU, and one of them is Auburn, a team we beat 3 out of 4 times, and they lost more league games than they won. Just my way of saying there is a lot of luck involved.

Im pretty sure you start this thread for every sport and you end up with hundreds of downvotes. Our fans can be harsh but you try to defend some of our worse coaches like JJ just to see if you can get your downvote record.

The baserunning issued remind me of 10 year old recreational baseball.

The in game coaching was not as big of a deal as people make it. This team was lacking talent in critical areas (injuries definitely played a part in pitching dept).

Two main things that fall directly on CPM:

1. No LHP AT ALL. This falls directly on his shoulders. This is inexcusable and puts his team at a severe matchup disadvantage.

2. Our best option at 3b was a guy who hit well below .200 with absolutely no power and ok speed. Granted HH was great defensively I guess but 3b doesn’t make nearly enough of a defensive impact to sacrifice such poor offensive production. C who people will not run on and calls a great game, sure. SS/2b who not only makes all the routine plays but also has extraordinary range and arm talent where he makes extra outs that otherwise wouldn’t be made, OK. 3b just doesn’t have near the impact on the game as the other spots mentioned.

Gonna throw some stats out here and tell me if this sounds like a dominant program... LSU is now 5-4 under Mainieri at home in Super Regionals. AT HOME. They’ve never won a road regional under him. The last two years LSU is playing
.650 ball overall. They are 32-28 in conference. They are 13-9 against in State opponents, 11-29 in road games. The team ERA is 4.77 and the team BA is .278. Am I missing something? This isn’t a great program under him. It’s just not. The stats bear it out. And there’s no Alex Box mystique. No home field advantage. If you are barely above .500 in three game series to go to Omaha in your park, you ain’t dominating or intimidating anyone. Paul Mainieri is exceptionally mediocre. Is that what the program with more resources than any other in college baseball should be happy with? Being... eh, okay...?

We are a D1 baseball team in the sec and do not have a left handed pitcher on the staff. I've never seen or heard of that. It's really unbelievable. But we got moffitt to pitch mid week games.
