Smoke was fired for not winning “IN” Omaha. Maineri can hardly get us “TO” Omaha.

See my edit to my previous post regarding the 2015 class.Perfect Game only had 9 players for our 2015 class which was incorrect. We actually had 16 players report to campus in that class. Perfect Game fricked up bigly.

I expect LSU to be in a position to get to the CWS next year.

it is clearly not the time to throw CPM under the bus.

I see the edit. Very good.
My larger point is that LSU had 2 Top 10 classes between 2011 and 2017. Too many people think that LSU can just pump out top classes just for being LSU. This is a lesson that seems to have been learned by Paul. It is this lesson that led to him hiring a coach to recruit. Too bad Cain is not very good at anything else. If Paul would recruit, he may have the flexibility to hire a paid hitting coach.
There is no arguing Paul’s career success, 1400+ wins don’t happen to just anyone. But if you cannot see the position Paul has himself/the program in, then you just do not want to see it.

Baseball is a game of percentages. CPM goes against the percentages and it often bites the team in the arse. That is a problem. When is the last time CPM outcoached an equally talented or more talented team?

College baseball, particularly SEC baseball, is much more competitive.
Evidence the SEC is more competitive? Four SEC teams going to the CWS......four.
I agree Paul Maineri is not the problem.
Having said that......geaux Big SEC!!

You don't see teams go to the CWS year after year after year

No, it's sunshine pumpers like you, and others, that are the problem at LSU, with our baseball team, and was the problem with football. You are too willing to accept mediocrity in your life, at your school, and with your country. You are afraid to try change for the dumbest of reasons. It all adds up to being a loser(s)!

I'm not a sunshine pumper at all. There was a discussion on one of the Shreveport Radio shows about how there is a contingent of LSU fans who have delusional beliefs about how LSU baseball is the "premier" baseball program. There is no premier baseball program now. Teams get hot, then they get cold.

Get the job done or we’ll find someone who will. And get off TD and start coaching.

quote:Delusional? We should be the premier baseball program. We have led the nation in attendance for 25 years, have arguably the best stadium, the best fans, and a fantastic legacy. There’s nothing delusional about our expectations you tard.

So pedestrian base running errors, no LHPs on staff to Throw BP and not pulling pitchers when anybody would is now not PM fault. Some of you Maneri lovers are so stupid

Why? He certainly does it to the players all the time.

It’s a game of percentages. Modern day Analytics were born in baseball decades ago. Strategy is and always will be the main job of Managers. CPM went against these percentages many times these last few games and the purist know he fuked up.

He’s a fine coach but his recruiting decisions and his staff selection may need some tweaking.
