Negative much?

I’m pretty sure the committee has already said that conference championship game losers will not get passed by other in conference members that finished behind them in the standings. It’s easy for them to do this now that there are no divisions. They went so far as to say they can only get passed by a team that won another conference game

I agree with the strategy here but if we get to playing the cc game we need to go win the damn thing.

Not according to this scenario calculator. If LSU wins out, they are in the SEC championship game no matter what, at least according to every scenario I have run. Who their opponent would be is TBD. A&M is in even if they drop a game.
Yeah, it think what Finebaum has done is grossly (and erroneously) simplified the tie breaking procedure.
This scenario could happen:
Texas, LSU, A&M, Georgia, all finish 7-1
The first tie breaker is head to head. That gives you nothing in a 4 way tie
The second is record vs. all common SEC opponents. All four have only 1 common opponent, Florida. In that scenario all would have beaten Florida. So that doesn't break the tie.
The third tie breaker is record against the highest placed conference opponents. This one is a bit confusing, but considering all 4 only share one conf. opponent and would have the same record against that opponent, you'd have to go to No. 4
Which is cumulative conf. winning % of all conf. opponents. At this point no one knows what that winning % would be.

Season is still in front of us. We rematch them on a neutral site we will beat their arse.

I swear some of the “so called” LSU fans on this site would find a reason to cry, bitch and complain if LSU won a National Championship

That’s true. I think most people have been running it based on the favorites, other than shuffling the teams involved. I think the calculator defaults to that. So yeah there could be some shifting if a few upsets happen.

I dont recall them saying this.

I think we'd beat the fricking brakes off of A&M in a rematch.
Baker will destroy their offense. Either QB
Nuss will finally have lost a game with his antics instead of heroics saving him
And I’d be surprised if Sloan runs on 2nd down every time. If everyone in here is ripping him you can bet others are too, whose opinions actually matter.

LSU gets in if they winout anyways in a 4 way tie with Georgia, A&M, and Texas..

We aren’t winning out. BK is your coach. Three losses are coming annually no matter what.
We may beat Bama, but then BK will BK and likely lose to Vandy or Sunbelt Billy.
Get used to this.

Conference championship games need to be done away with now that there’s a 12 team playoff. We’ve all seen enough by the end of the regular season to determine who should be in, and a team should never be punished for making a CCG and losing, only to be jumped by a team that didn’t even play in one.
This here, you don't need a game anymore to decide the conference champion.

We are assuming only this scenario of LSU and ATM winning out. What if LSU wins out and ATM loses more than one and get eliminated from the SECCG and playoff contention (say USCe and to the Longhorns)? Who is in then? The next 4 weeks can change a lot for the SEC.
Posted on 10/28/24 at 5:56 pm to Ebridg3
Actually LSU playing in SECCG risky because losing gives them three losses and out of playoff. They may already be in by not playing it at all.

quote:I think this is silly. LSU does not have the depth to go far in the playoffs, so i at oeast want to possibly come home with an SEC championship. If LSU doesn't win the SEC, they will more than likely have to go on the road in the first round of the playoffs
I’d rather not play in the SEC championship.
quote:This isn't definite at all. Bama's defense sucks. Don't give me that Mizzou crap. Bama played against a hurt QB and Mizzou didn't have their star RB. They had no chance of putting up offense (see them vs TAMU). Offensively, Bama didn't do much but run vs Mizzou. LSU can contain a run game if given time.
Also LSU isn’t winning out
Vandy and Oklahoma are at home and likely at night.
Florida is definitely tricky, but i expect that to be a day game at Florida after they lose to UGA and Texas in back to back weeks. They'll go into the game with a losing record.
I expect Bama to be a get right game for LSU. Florida goes into that game disjointed because of back to back losses, and face an LSU team that has faced Arkansas's Green (who is currently a better version than Lagway).

This is why coaches take it one game at a time and fans purchase tickets for Atlanta in October.
