Kim Maulky is 59... His age has nothing to do with coaching. He's got a damn good resume.

Don't praise woody for Kim and riot on him bc he hires Pat.

I have a serious issue with him supporting the Pedo pitcher

I hope it's a smokescreen for McDonnell.

What exactly should Casey have done? He recruited and coached a kid for 3 seasons before the story was uncovered. And to be fair, none of us know as much about the case as the coach does. The incident did not happen while the player was at OSU.

They sat the player for the postseason when the news of his past broke, and it likely cost them a national championship.

Remove him from the team.

Next question.

Not a huge fan. Would prefer Godwin over Casey
You'd prefer a guy who has never been to Omaha over a 3 time national champ? Who cares about age 62. Saban is almost 70 and we'd take him as our football coach in a heartbeat. Mulkey is 59 and everyone lost their minds with excitement.

Casey definitely has the best resume of any coach "available."

Yeah, but shopping on resume alone is dumb. Younger guys will never have that.

As long as we aren’t talking about an 80 year old I could care less about his age.

You're replacing a 60 year that is retiring due to health and burn out with a 60 year that retired 3 years ago due to....health and burn out. Did he discover the fountain of youth while away?

I also don't love you have basically no recruiting ties to this area

He eats a paleo diet now. Will live till he's 200.

COACHING SCOOP: Multiple sources have informed @d1baseball that former @BeaverBaseball legendary coach Pat Casey has emerged as the leading candidate for the @LSUbaseball head coaching job. More could be coming on this very soon. #GeauxTigers #LSU

Thoughts?

Seems a little tone deaf given all the Title IX issues as of late...

It’s a smoke screen. A dude born and raised in Oregon that retired isn’t going to move to Louisiana and be the baseball coach at the most demanding program in the country.

The only thing that concerns me is the Heimlich stuff. As long as we aren’t asking him to field balls at 2nd I couldn’t careless about his age. Would be a great hire.

Does he have a big arse Oregon pension? I'm not sure.

I'd also worry about his gusto/motivation. He might just have a itch that he wants to scratch but then finds out he was happier retired in 2 years and we're fricked.

They did for the rest of that season.

Then it’s likely they learned more info about what happened, and let him play his last season.

Compared to how LSU handled the Guice issue, plus others. Let's be real, OSU and Casey handled that issue way way better than what was done here.
