But, I’m also reading that the Citrus is looking at South Carolina with their wins over Clemson and Tennessee. Surely our stock falls with a bad showing in the SEC Championship game. I have no clue where we’d go in that case.

SEC Championship loser can't fall past Citrus. SEC made that rule after LSU fell all the way to the Peach in 05 which was a lower tier bowl then. I think they are looking at the cocks if LSU goes to a NY6 bowl.

Citrus Bowl is fine. Purdue is a respectable opponent.
It’s all about the extra practices and continued development anyway.

2016 Florida is very similar to 2022 LSU.
9-3 with losses to Tennessee, blowout loss to 7-6 Arkansas, and blowout loss to FSU. They then got blown out by Bama in the SECCG.
They dropped to the Outback Bowl. LSU went to the Citrus Bowl.
There's no rule like you are saying. Citrus gets first pick of the SEC teams after the NY6.

Absolutely take that. A chance to not losing three in a row at the end of a season is all you can hope for at this point.

If that rule no longer exists, Citrus will take S Cackalacky. Hopefully, the SEC does the right thing and gives us the Outback. If not, we could fall to Liberty or Texas.
