Whoever was the ESPN officiating person said he thought it was incomplete so I’m not sure what they’re teaching those folks.

All I know is the guy had the ball without it moving for like 3 steps. Yea he didn’t tuck it, but so what. IDGAF who LSU plays. I would have been happy to either of those two coaches lose, but they need to clarify this football move bullshite

I thought it was the right call. Live speed it was incomplete. When you slow it down you can find football moves if you want. It was very similar to Jefferson’s in our game.

The ref the announcers talked to said it would be overturned. When he explained it, it made sense to me.

Imagine if he caught the ball near the sideline and the ball landed out of bounds. They would have definitely called it incomplete because he didn’t finish the catch. That happens all of the time.

I think it was a catch and fumble. Anyone surprised that the officiating crew being scrutinized is from the SEC?

I think it was incomplete, but not inconclusive...That is a tough replay to overturn. I would of kept whatever was called on the field.

My thought is that I have no fricking idea what the rational is for that not being a catch. He wasn't bobbling it. He had full control.

Total absurdity

FWIW, the TV in-game rules "expert" said it was not a catch before the official ruling came down. Tough call. Reminded me of the Jace Sternberger play in last year's A&M game.

He took 3 if not 4 steps after catch and ball was never loose until defender forced it out. Even if it was a close call and some say it could go either way then it should have gone with the call on the field which was catch/fumble.

The official they went to in the studio said it was an incompletion w/o hesitation, so I guess they got it right based on how officials translate the rule. I on the other hand thought it was clearly a fumble. The guy took like 3 steps and the ball never moved. If that’s not a football move then I don’t know what is anymore.

From the moment it happened, I said no catch. Still stand by that!

If they didn’t call it a turnover for us last year in A&M game they sure as H weren’t going to call this one a catch. The one last year for the A&M player was way more blatant than that one.

The three steps were while he was gathering the ball. Whether it takes one step or three or more to land and gather himself, it's not a "football move" separate from the catch.

He didn't turn upfield at all, never had a chance, because he was still catching the ball.

If I'm interpreting that correctly, they would do better to drop "football move" and define it as any action that is distinct from the catch and happens after catch is complete.

It's like they basically said, you can hold the ball over your head with both hands and run the length of the foorball field, get the ball knocked out and it's an incomplete pass because he didn't tuck it away or make a football move
