If you're building a team...where do you emphasize your foundation and why?

offensive line or Defensive line? Which position?

OL
Guard
Tackle
TE
Center
RB
WR

Kickers

DL
LB
DB
Safety

If the question is team vs individual impact I'm going to go with whoever sets the D and makes the coverage calls. Could be a LB or safety.

This gets interesting because the question of whether you are comparing an elite player vs an average player for their position or an elite player vs an awful player at their position.
Example: you'll hardly notice an average Center, but get an awful one and you'll have it at the top of the list. Same thing with Middle LB.

Safety is an underrated position. Some of LSUs best defenses had studs like Chad Jones, Honey Badger, Jamal Adams & Delpit.

Trenches. Center, guard, then tackle. Then QB. Receiver, DL, safety, linebackers, corner, RB, TE.
