I agree with you, by no means is he Joe burrow. But, joe wasn’t the best QB in 18 either. Once he got that first season down, it was game over. I’m pulling for the kid, he’s giving LSU all he has right now. Also, given us a reason to be proud for LSU football. The last two years have been absolutely shite.

Exactly guys like nabers, boutte and Thomas will all be Sunday players their extremely talented wideouts I simply wished they got more chances when in single coverage than Daniels gave them this year

Daniels has mostly been inconsistent throwing the ball all season

Has he?

He’s been pretty consistent throwing the ball. He is completing almost 70 percent of his passes. His issues are finding open receivers but he throws the ball accurately when he does throw it.

I like our wideouts a lot, but Hanny said they were credited with 4 drops in the first half on Saturday. Our offensive guys play really well at times and not so well at others. This has been the case almost all of the offensive players including Daniels. They all can improve and get more consistent.

Boutte did nothing this year to make anyone think he's going to play on Sunday.

He got zero separation from DB's, he dropped almost as many passes as he caught and made nobody miss with the ball in his hands.

Nabors and Thomas are sophomores who might be star-quality receivers as seniors. But neither emerged as consistent game-breakers this year.

You'd think that fans of a school which three years ago had Jefferson, Chase and Marshall on the field at the same time would be able to tell the difference between a superstar wide receiver and one who isn't, but apparently you'd be wrong.

When Sampson gets here he probably becomes WR1 by the 3rd week of fall camp and everybody here will be shocked, I guess.

Interesting - maybe our WRs don't walk on water like we think they do??

I’m not sure that Boutte is fully healed,
Nabors is solid and a good possession guy. He’s not a game breaker.
Thomas is behind Nabors.

Hopefully you are right about Sampson. We lack a dynamic, breakaway threat at WR.

No he wasn’t, but some here were all over him.
He improved and had a great offseason and blew up in 2019.

Watch Daniels' freshman highlights and he's hanging the ball up for Brandon Aiyuk to go and get over and over again. Aiyuk caught 65 balls for almost 1200 yards that year.

Nobody on this team came close to that.

And you can't blame that on play calling. We called tons of downfield passes that ended in sacks or QB runs or dump-offs. Yes, Daniels needs to read a defense better and to turn it loose more.

But if anybody on our team was playing at the level Aiyuk did for Arizona State in 2019, Daniels would be using that guy as a crutch. Nobody did, and because they weren't getting open and making plays on that level Daniels was taking off running.

Not to mention that none of these guys broke tackles or made anybody miss all year long, which is what good receivers can do.

He’s allowed to improve in the off season

Or were you unaware that this was possible?

16 TDs, 5 INTs, 57.8% completion percentage.

For reference

Jayden is at 68.8% completion, 15 TDs and 2 ints.

Throw in the 824 rushing yards and 11 TDs.

That’s exactly my point. Some of these numb nuts think Daniel’s can’t improve. burrow made the greatest jump as a 5th year senior

Game one, drive one and Daniels hangs up one for 7. 7 failed to hang on. Apparently that was the rule and not the exception because our WRs have not made many tough catches.
Some of that is because Daniels hasn’t thrown many 50/50 balls but some of that is because our WRs aren’t sure handed or physical as we saw in the end zone last Saturday night.

GTFO... man, there are some idiotic post on the rant but you people really have no concept of how people learn and improve.

Joe Burrow (2018) was not Joe Burrow(2019) until he experienced 2018 and had the off season to work with the team.

Do not forget how many drops Chase and Jets had in 2018. That was the whole point of the summer of 10,000 catches.

We got 2019 because the team went through 2018 and stayed.

I re-watched the A&M game last night and I'm starting to change my mind (slightly and slowly) about JD. There's a loooooot of problems with this team right now. The more I re-watch, the more little things I notice, the more I start to re-evaluate.

You could put any QB you want on the field with LSU right now, you'd get the same result as JD does -- or worse.
