Have you seen Stanford in the 11 games they gave up 10+ runs or the other 12 they gave up 8 or 9? As much as LSU’s pen struggled at times this year, they only had 7 games of 10+ and 7 of 8 or 9.

We will have our hands full with Tennessee.

If we play WF in game two, I just don't think we have enough to beat them with the starting pitcher disadvantage. We would have to see the best outings in the careers of our boys in that game and the offense has to score...it would take a true, championship team effort.

Good lord man. Put your big girl panties on. We have the most dangerous lineup in the country and our pen has our together some excellent performances lately.

Yeah, saying they would have to have the best outings of their careers is quite a hyperbole. We just outscores a top 16 team in the country 22-3. Will be a great matchup.

Exactly. They lost a game to USM and we saw how inconsistent they’ve been all season. They’ve got individual talent but they’re not among the best 3-4 teams going to Omaha.

I’d rather USM, but UTk is still a relatively easy draw.

Stanford will pitch their bionic arm lefty so don’t necessarily put Wake into the winners bracket just yet.

Tennessee has a mythical reputation based on last year. They do not play with any type of edge. Their offense does not put a ton of pressure on you. Their pitching is good but if LSU’s offense doesn’t show up they aren’t going anywhere anyway.

You don’t get easy draws in the CWS and I’d play Florida, Virginia, Oral Roberts, and Stanford before Tennessee.

They have given up 31 runs in the 5 games Mathews didn’t pitch. That’s not terrible, but I’m not sure I’d call it pitching “well”.

Their pitchers have not faced Crews, Tanks, Morgan, Travinski, Dugas etc. I think this may be the only time I think great hitting can beat great pitching. I like Skenes against Tenn then Hurd or Floyd against Wake.

and Tennessee has pitching depth. We got a tough bracket and could have Florida waiting for us in the championship series. LSU going to have to beat the best to be the best.

So 6 runs a game?

You were just talking about 11 runs ten times or some shite

It’s easy to selectively fudge numbers but they are either getting bombed or not, and it doesn’t look like that is the case recently

Tennessee has won 20 of their last 26, but whatever you want to believe. It’s not like we were dominating in the second half of the season. I like our chances, but it doesn’t take a baseball genius to realize Tennessee is playing good baseball.

I mean, we’ve won 18 of our last 26, even while “scuffling”

I could be wrong, but I'd assume most teams left should be around this? How many had USM won of their last 25 before today's game?

I know the Oral team had a crazy long winning streak before blowing the game against Oregon.
