It’s almost too loaded as in too many mouths to feed

Plus the fact that we desperately need to establish a real ground game led by Durham. It’s widely proven that you can’t win if you can’t run the ball at least moderately. Look at Georgia last season, their run game was nonexistent and it bit them. Had they had a subpar run game they are at least playing Ohio State for the title.

Back to LSU, ground game and defense is what wins you road games in the SEC. QB can’t bail you out every game especially not on the road.

Hopefully Sloan uses him more in a joker role this yr.

He is so quick in space. That play out of the backfield was great but Sloan barely went to it.

Hopefully Alex Atkins gets a huge say in how they build out the offense this yr. I've heard he has installed a few things.

Doesn’t matter lol according to espn we only have 4% chance to win the sec. Our WR room and our 4000 yard passing veteran QB doesn’t matter according to them lsu gonna finish 6th in the sec

It probably didn't help that they lost their starting QB and had to start a guy with zero career starts in the CFP. That probably had a little more to do with it than the lack of a running game.

The poor running game was almost entirely due to a poor approach by Sloan. You can't have an approach that relies on, to some degree, a QB at least being threat to run...and not have a QB who is a threat to run.

Nuss is not a good runner or a willing runner. That's fine. It's not his strength. Good coaches implement an approach that caters to the strengths of their personnel. Not one that tries to force guys to play to their weaknesses. He has to design and implement a run game that doesn't rely on the QB being a running threat.

Maybe you should go back and try again. I generally agree with you and you were not who I quoted.

There were countless moments when it was 3rd and short and we needed 1 yard. Lineup with the opponent knowing exactly what’s coming and the OL failed to push the D back.

Z. Thomas is a huge part of the offense. He should have been used so much more last year. Being in an empty set he can motion to RB and has speed to take any route the distance.

He was the best we had last year, we’ve had seasons with 4-5 RB’s on the roster. Durham is very good when healthy. This season, he’ll have more help.

Uhh brother you do know Hilton, Watkins and Brown alone are 4.2 to 4.3 guys right?

I mean Watkins is literally going to probably compete in the Olympics for goodness sakes lol

I don't think we have 1 receiver that runs slower than a 4.4.

Either way, I would love for them to test Clemson's DBs early in the game with Brown, Watkins, and Hilton.

We've got to have the fastest WR group in CFB
It's been stated by multiple people that the LSU offense is the fastest offense on the new college football video game.

I've heard this said by other NON LSU .media, and Nuss said it also that LSU probably doesn't have a receiver that runs over a 4.4. I don't truly think we have a receiver than runs anything lower than a 4.48.

Aaron Anderson would likely be in the 4.38-4.42 range, Barion Brown is 4.2s most definitely. Zavion Thomas is likely somewhere between 4.33 to 4.38, Nic Anderson is 4.35-4.40, Chris Hilton is 4.36 or faster, and I don't really know, but I've heard the transfer from FSU is fast as hell too.

How can you watch previous LSU WRs and not gauge WR speed better?

I love Thomas. He runs with the ball like a running back almost. Strong and breaks arm tackles. I wish we could use him more. Last year I kept sky screaming that.

I think every receiver on our team runs slower than a 4.4. Maybe one or two exceptions on their best day.
