No, our problems is that Saban coaches for Alabama. The same problem every other team in the country has.

No shortage of impressively stupid people depicted or writing in this thread.

Well, the Chairman of the LSU Board of Supervisors is an African-American trial lawyer from Metairie appointed by JBE. I’m guessing he has never voted Republican. To serve on the LSU BoS, you should have some type of degree from the LSU system!!!!

First, LSU is not close to beating Alabama and will never do so with Orgeron having E as his OC. LSU has yet to score with E as OC.

Second, Miles’ teams were playing Alabama close and people were screaming for him to be fired because he couldn’t beat them. Now playing the Elephants close is enough to warrant a raise!? Seriously? This is what you call lowered expectations.

Not to toot my own horn - but in my life I’ve personally worked for 2 different board of supervisors. I’ve met a handful of others. One guy was a bible thumping, closet alcoholic, ultra conservative who had a junkie kid he constantly worried about.

The other acted like he was Richard Branson - jetsetting about -also ultra conservative. The others I’ve met seemed fine some seemed over their heads.

It’s a mostly conservative group - maybe some moderates (which any extreme left/right has their own set of problems). It is a politically motivated position, and most if not all - are not qualified to hold such an once thought of “esteemed” position (IMO). That group has a massive ego - per one previously mentioned - imagine their meetings are big boast-fests and bitch-fests and backstabbing-fests. One-offs and whispering...emails... you could drive yourself crazy. But to give them credit, I never got any info - even during “the search”. And believe me I asked.

That comes from a nobody like me so take it with a grain of salt. At least I know I’m a mid-level peon.

I’ll ask about this so called Shreveport donor - I know there is a whale up there. I forget his last name I’ll think of it though.

Yeah you lost your believability right there. I'm sure Trump would love for people in Louisiana to believe the reason their Tigers are losing is because "Dems". LOL

I'm more worried about the crappy offense. Push your agenda somewhere else.

You think theres a bunch(or any) liberals in LA with big money that donate huge sums to a college football program?

Wrong!!

Miles was let go because he produced championship seasons early on then was headed in the wrong direction later. It should be the opposite direction. This staff is headed upward, at a snails pace, but still trajectory is positive

Nah.

Mile was fired because, as Dick Satans coaches left and Miles took more and more control over the program, offense and coaching staff, the results werent matching the recruiting. That and obvious and consistent problems that were never addressed. Pretty much all on the offensive side of the ball.

He doesn't need a raise, he'll get a damn bonus for winning that bowl game. He would have gotten 100,000 bonus for 10 wins in regular season. No damn extension either just for winning the bowl game.

The program and roster that Miles left would have been 6 and 6. There would have been no,Burrow no Tracey. No Avery Atkins. Aranda would be at TAM.

We would not, have a commitment from John Emery Peter Parrish Max Johnson. Trey Palmer

Word is he has put his checkbook back in his pocket because of all the liberal BS on board. Specifically F King Alexander

that's a shame. it's his money but that's just a bull shite move. LSU will be here long after Alexander is gone. and who the hell knows what you mean when you say "the liberal BS on board". I tire of people interjecting the word "liberal" anytime they disagree with anything, politics or not, just to make a point since the very word "liberal" has been vilified. LSU has a bunch of new board members and you have no idea what their political inclinations are OR why that even matters when discussing a nutrition center.

maybe you should take your liberal BS somewhere else.

Whether true or not, I think most realize there's a systemic problem. 2015 did it for me. If that wasn't enough, the "search" that brought us the defensive line coach's promotion surely confirmed for many of us that our administration isn't serious about winning championships

This topic been beaten to death and sadly I'm just apathetic about it now, but yes that's our reality right now.

I'll keep supporting LSU bc it's who I am, but I won't pour money into the football program anymore. Not until we commit to being a championship program again.

that ain't the problem; the problem is that every tom, dick and harry think they can define the word.

far left liberals AND far right neo-cons are BOTH a disease. it is up to intelligent, independent thinking moderates to keep both of these extreme weird-do's from controlling our country.

This should be on the politics board. People these days are divided enough. I come here to read about footballl to get a break from politics.

At a minimum your thread topic should have revealed this was a political rant so I wouldn’t have clicked on it. That goes for either side.

We don’t need to further fracture our fan base by blaming football losses on political affiliation.

not that you're wrong but pay attention man. all colleges have some sort of systemic problems. look at Tejas; they are really fricked up. check out their history; if they actually have a good coach now it is by accident. Athletic Depts are merely ONE department of a college and the college leaders have much more to be concerned with that sports teams. I'm and alum and a fan of 50 years and I can say every damn administration has had problems.
