Is this Matt Canada offense just this bad? or is it just this bad due to Inexperienced WR's/ a Depleted O-Line/ banged up RB's/ and a below average QB?

Is Canada really holding things back? Have we already seen the ceiling of this offense?

I feel like its gonna be a dumpster FIRE against Auburn and Alabama. These jet sweeps and 3-4 yard runs arent gonna cut it. Either we start making some throws or were screwed. And by throws I mean passes over 5 yards.

I also think although Guice has been hampered this season from some ?injury he hasn't been that effective because he has no lead blocker. Still don't understand how we have a Great SR fullback and he barely see's the field? You'd think they'd find a way to get him more involved even if he doesn't fit Canada's offensive scheme.

I feel like a good OC should be able to do something with whatever he's got

Offense looked better, and the jet sweeps keep the defense at home so you can run up the middle on lesser defense's

Canada's game plan early in the game was the main reason we won imo.

Look above as you basically answered your own question with the reasons the offense is struggling. That is a lot of bad shite going on for even Bill Walsh and Joe Montana to overcome. Yes, our OL is awful and having to play youth, Etling is getting worse, WR are not getting open becuase they cannot run their routes, Guice is playing hurt, etc... There is your answer which you already covered.

I saw his offense last year (First year offense at Pitt) and their game against Clemson was brilliant.. THEY BEAT CLEMSON!!! His Pitt players are much smarter than ours and their OL played tough and SMART, which is why he could call some of those magic plays where the OL lined up as a TE, went out in the flat and caught a TD pass. The DB probably thought the big ugly was running to the bench

This was probably Canada’s best game but we got very conservative late.

First half was very well called.

Canada did have a great QB at Pitt. I'll give you that.

But his offense is actually pretty easy to learn from what I hear. KJ Malone said it was the easiest offense he's ever learned.

I think yesterday proved that the limiting factor is a QB who can't make the most basic throws to wide open receivers.

It was clear that after the 2 near interceptions on the last drive of the 2nd quarter and the interception that Chark stole from the DB, Canada had no choice but to shut down the passing game.

The real scary thing is that it is also clear that they don't believe Brennan can do any better.

Basically we are playing the rest of the year with no threat of a passing offense and every team on the schedule knows it.

Honestly, it was yesterday. It won't work against every team, but we averaged 10 ypc on jet sweeps with our WRs and had our two longest runs of the year - two 30-yard runs (one of them being one of our 2 TDs).

Etling played tough as nails yesterday and showed great leadership, but he HAS to throw the ball better. Canada was really limited because Etling was really inaccurate as the game went on. THere is only so much you can do with that.

Yeah that was really just a joke.

We're going to have to make some big plays down the field if we want to have a chance in this game.

Yeah, Florida is not a very good team. Auburn looks much better than them. The QB and WRs need to step it up.

This season is lost for any championships. Let's play Brennan and give narcisse some reps. We can use dual QB at bama. Let's start working on next year

QB yes, OL yes, WR who knows? Without blocking and a QB there's no way to know.

guys this simple. Canada do whatever he wants and it did look better. The jet sweep does not have to work every time to keep the defense honest. But the bottom line is o line is young and not great and etling is limited. As the old saying goes you can't win the kentucky derby with a mule.
