Arkansas fans literally do not have much else to root for. UofA is the only major university in the state and there are not any pro teams in any sport.
All their eggs are in the Razorback basket.
BTW, the drive from Fayetteville to Shreveport is BRUTAL. One of the hardest SEC venues to travel to and from if you live in Lafayette or Lake Charles.

Dude I have been to AR vs LSU when LSU lost at your place and you guys are disgusting. Your fans cussed us all the way to the car. I actually thought I was going to have to fight just to get back to my car. I was with my wife who was scared to death.

It would be hard to blame the fans giving up on the team after Alabama when the players themselves have. I tried to convince myself we wouldn't come out feeling sorry for ourselves after losing our superbowl a week prior, and I made the trip. That was on par with 1-9-12 as far as embarrassing offensive performances go. 38 rushing yards when we insist on pounding the ball. We don't have any pride. Our season lives and dies with the Alabama game. The coaches, players, and fans all share this mentality. It's pathetic.

In the early 90s it was not unusual to see 20,000 empty seats at the start of the game. You could have entire rows to yourself. 2-9 does not sell tickets.

They have the most delusional fan base in the country. This has been said by a lot of sports radio hosts. They were expecting Jon Gruden or Cowher to be their HC before Bret B and they weren't kidding.
