quote:Yes, Clapp crapped out once again but Harris was still in a position to maintain possession of the ball and maybe even create positive yardage.
But don't forget, this is Harris' fault, just ask the Rant.
The piss poor, witless, and just-plain-stupid decision by Harris is what resulted in the death knell on that play, not the continued, crappy, and detestable O-line play.

We only have guards and no tackles.

Wow that whiff by Pocic and company on that screen to Fournette was God awful bad. If they make their blocks he might take that all the way

It really blows my mind how bad they were. And it also blows my mind how dipshit coaches haven't recruited better linemen on the offensive side of the ball. I think that is why Miles seems so despondent he knows what he has in that offensive line and there not much that can be done.

I don't disagree with you that his brain turned to mush on that play but he should have never been in that position to begin with. So many if, ands, and buts from Saturday...

Can we add some analysis of Jeter's frickery to this thread? He was absolutely horrible all game.
Here you go, Jeter (81) in all his glory. Don't forget about Moreau (84), he is equally bad.
I think those guys had their eyes closed.

As a group, the OL was simply dazed and confused!
Posted on 9/8/16 at 11:23 am to jrodLSUke
Damn it man this is pathetic. I knew those guys were missing blocks all game but how in the frick is that the best LSU has? We will be laughed at all year with a keystone cop offensive line like that. Auburn fans warned us.

Good thing the Head Coach is a former O lineman. He can help out.

All I can do is laugh. It's like they didn't want to get hit so they just moved out of the way.

JD did his job though. He destroyed that poor kid.

LF screen: IF Pocic makes that block, right in front of him (hit the darn guy vice diving at his feet) LF is off and running for a 1st down and plenty more. It appears on two DB's were down field, and so were our WR's....could have been a HUGE play. Those types of misses/whiffs are NOT going to get it done.
Posted on 9/8/16 at 11:29 am to jrodLSUke
Yeah, I remember that one and I think another one where BOTH TE's end up downfield on a running play....having missed their assigned defenders. Terrible, absolutely terrible. Almost like they are afraid of contact...if so...sit down!

Jeff Grimes being a good recruiter and meh coach pretty much sums up his career at Auburn.

That's just terrible, really terrible and do any of you just all of a sudden think they will just get better? Not me! Clapp completely missed the LBer shooting the gap, just ran right past him and let him stuff Fournette on that 4th down run.
I don't know how that film session went with Grimes, but I would have been losing my fricking mind with them.

I don't get why people are blaming the O-line woes on both tackles.
Toby Weathersby played pretty well from all the tape I've seen of him

Yes, he did. The entire OL did a good job, except for those two TEs at the point of attack.
Take another look at the hole that LF7 has to run through, then look at the daylight we would have after getting through that hole. Two TEs, one defender, and no block .

I don't have gifs of every play, but from what I have seen so far, the right side of the line played pretty well.
Malone and Clapp were really bad on the left side. Just really poor blocking, not knowing their assignments, and getting beat repeatedly.

This is what is so painful. That play and even on the screen play, we are that close to Fournette taking both of those to the house for a TD if the line made their blocks Hey maybe Miles see that on the film and says the same thing, who knows!

Malone was inconsistent, and tehuma just didn't look in playing shape, was sluggish. The tes didn't do much either but fall over.
I say put your best player at LT.
