What in your opinion would be the difference if he disclosed suspensions?

I know it may be hard to understand in the year 2017, but some things really are just none of your business.

I'm still trying to figure out WHY the OP thinks not disclosing is "wrong"...
Posted on 9/3/17 at 11:39 am to OleWarSkuleAlum
Seriously? Why, so you can put them on trial ? Sorry but LSU doesn't owe you shite. Just worry about you and yours. Hey teacher leave them kids alone

Obviously you have never led people. PRAISE in public and REPRIMAND in private.
As far as the suspensions, it's called setting the standards.
What they did and his decisions for discipline are entirely his. He doesn't owe you shite, you have no right or need to know what they do in house.
Want to be part of the team, buckle up Francis, we are always looking for dedicated ball players.

Is it related to the reason Savion Smith transferred?

I guess you don't realize he is not the only coach that does this right?

I'm glad you have nothing to do with these decisions. I could give a shite who is suspended if it in any way gives us a competitive advantage. Me knowing that someone is suspended (and/or why) doesn't change whether that player will or won't play. It's straight curiosity on the our part. And we don't NEED to know.
Also glad I'm not your kid if public chastising is your policy.
Finally your argument to make these guys worse by not letting them practice is straight up moronic. If anything, make them run extra as discipline, with the added bonus that they're in better shape when they get back.

Actually I have led people in much more pressure / life and death situations than college athletics. When I was in the Army we would plaster the results of all UCMJ/NJP offenses that happened within the formation on the bulletin board for all to see. Didn't matter what company or even if you were from another BN etc you would see the exact offense and the exact punishment.

Absolutely ridiculous that 13 players playing on one of the most elite teams in the NCAA cannot follow simple rules to stay active. Orgeron is dead wrong by not disclosing their suspensions. These players should be chastised and should not practice with the first team this week.
It's only a story if they don't play next week.

He doesn't have to outline every offense exactly. However he does need to tell us insert name here is suspended for 2 games, insert name here is suspended for one game, etc. The way he handled it saying essentially yeah some players may be suspended however I won't disclose who is such a milquetoast response. He can say violation of team rules or whatever but he's hiding and scared to be a bad guy.

Would you then go to the papers with this info? Or, did you keep it in house as everyone is suggesting?

What a fricktard. Did you see the shitstorm Florida went through with them publicly announcing the ten player suspensions? We had more players out and it was barely a blip during the entire broadcast. Keep the bad press internal and handle discipline accordingly. You're just being a pussy because you feel entitled to know why they were suspended.

Bebe is da head coach. Not you. I don't have a problem with it.

Posting the results of NJP for everyone to learn from others mistakes is not leadership. In the Navy, leading people meant we were intrusive when need be, mentored, educated and led by example. We LED our people to attempt to keep them out of NJP.
Simply posting matter of fact results so other people can see the consequences of said actions if they chose to screw up as well isn't leadership; we did that as well by the way.
