It’s more likely that the agreement when Orgeron was originally hired was that the AD had to approve coordinator hires. We’ve seen this with Canada. He was forced to keep Aranda.
I think this is a power struggle.

People around here look for anything to bitch about. Doesn’t matter if it’s O, Wade, or Paul. Not interviewing someone last year, taking too long to hire someone this year, interviewing too many people deemed “unqualified” by the rant. It’s never ending.

DC Jones, not so much. 110% a SJW Woodward PC hire.
Hope it all works out Scotty Boy, but on paper DJ doesn't have the DC experience necessary to come in here and manage a Defense in the best Conference/Division in college football. (Hopefully Baker can take up the slack, since he has more DC experience than the actual DC)
We all don't have a choice though to do anything about it; can't do anything except give it a chance to succeed or fail on the field. We'll get evidence immediately against UCLA if it's going to work or not.......

People are saying that it looks bad on Woody for signing off on it without O having interviewed them. The more likely scenario (and it has been rumored) is that Bo and Linehan were Woody's hires in the first place, which would at least partially explain why O didn't interview them. Would also give O a reason for admitting that he didn't interview them.

Its incredibly unlikely woodward comes in as AD, and then almost immediately starts putting assistant coach hires on the head coach who just won a natty, and this is after the canada fiasco.
And even if it were true, and woodward recommended/strongly recommended them (strong arming O, which goes against what we know woodwards personality to be) a halfway functioning head coach would still interview those candidates.
