Sammy - c'mon he has like 24 carries and you are proclaiming that he will run through us like swiss cheese. Oregon has faced many talented big backs the last two seasons.

MOT - Hanna won't be running that at the combine as DE. Jordan won't either if he bulks up.

So then you admit your original comments about Montgomery and Mingo running at the combine are completely irrelevant to the discussion?

Good god, your stupidity and pathetic pride knows no bounds.

If you really think that Oregon's implementation of the offense is the same as Florida, then there is no hope for you as a legit football observer.

I'll end it at this, the way Tebow ran the ball is not even comparable to Thomas.

Florida= spread with power running game

Oregon= spread with finesse.

I think if I had to call my blog "fish-duck" and that my teams mascot was a "duck" (probably the least intimidating mammal on the planet), I would just find another team to follow.

Fish Duck is probably the best UO blogger/poster around. I hate this blog, but he does actually know a thing or two about football.

Montgomery won't be running a 4.5 at the combine. A 4.68 is fast for an end and, especially since he goes 260 compared to 245. A lot of teams can put out a hand timed 4.5 245 pound DE. That 40 time doesn't mean jack unless he can get of blocks, which I presume he can by the way you gush about him.

Ken Adams busted a 40 in the high 4.4's as per our S&C Coach at Media Day. Chavis wouldn't go on record with it as a quote because he's not one to brag, but said, "You'd be surprised how fast Ken Adams is."

That's our 2nd fastest Defensive End. I'll repeat myself-AGAIN-and tell you that Barkevious "KeKe" Mingo won the 400 meter relay as a Senior in HS at 6-5. He's 240-245 now, & he hasn't lost speed. He's gained it.

You have no clue the speed you're going to face off the edge. Period.

By your definition, then, an offense can be defined completely by the measurables of its QB. Masoli was quick, & was much more physical than Thomas. Overnight, according to you, they became a finesse offense, then, I guess.

My pride has nothing to do with it. Your definitions are ill-fitting.

Remember the cool efficiency Darron Thomas displayed in the UCLA game? Remember the final drive against Cal? Remember the inside/outside Barner/James running game the Ducks put together in the Civil War?

Was kinda taking him seriously until that. UCLA? Cal? Oregon State? Yeah, and I could be a star quarterback on an 8th grade team. You Left Coasters just don't get it. You can put together good teams, and run up good stats in your little playground, and may even take the occasional game from an SEC team--but week in, week out, SEC teams face a grueling schedule of TOUGH teams. That is why we have "run, run, pass, punt" so often--we're playing tackle, not flag.

LSU has the most depth at defensive end of any team in the country...in years.

Guys like Maclin and Rasco could start for many teams in the Top 25 and they are 5th and 6th options are DE this year.

Edwards
Adams
Montgomery
Mingo
Maclin
Rasco
Allen (who knows if he will play or not..probably needs another year).

I'll put those guys up against any roaster of DEs in the country.

DT is the bigger issue. We cannot afford any injuries or we are in trouble in the middle of the line.

We need Ego or Logan to step up and surprise us in addition to Freak, Brockers, and Downs are staying healthy and playing up to potential.

The scary part: We are even deeper in the secondary. I will be surprised if less than 90% of the guys that see the field at CB and S in the coming years aren't playing on Sundays.

Everything I can find on the net says Adam runs like a 4.76. The only thing that shows up differently is a thread on tigedroppings.

You're still arguing whose linemen are faster?

Bison, i have asked you several times if you are going to be at the game, with no response. Will you be seeing this duck hunt with your own eyes?

Nico, I am putting a new roof on my house in September. So, the answer is no.

I am not arguing that whos are faster. However, I don't believe for a second that Adams runs a legit 4.4. Mingo is showing a 4.55 on scout. Jordan ran a 4.58. I think what will happen is you guys will be the one surprised by our foot speed. We get it crammed down our throats about how fast yours are.

Bair ran the 4th fastest 40 of DT in last years combine and the fastest shuttle. Hart and Remington look just as fast. We will have speed as well. That is all I am saying.

You guys act like we've never seen speed.
