Actually one of Arizona's DE went in the second round. The other one went int eh 6th i think. And uh oh look out for Brooks Reed's blazing 4.68. Montgomery ran a 4.68 off the field when he tore his ACL (citation needed).

Both of Arizona's DE went in the first two rounds. It's a misnomer that we don't face talented ends.
Also, our ends will give us plenty of practice. Jordan was a WR converted to DE. Hanna is converted MLB. Besides, the last two years our defense has lined up against Kenny Rowe.
What did Arizona have behind those two? We're going to go 4 or 5 deep. The convereted MLB is nice, the LB we convereted is #6 on the depth chart.

Montgomery won't be running a 4.5 at the combine. A 4.68 is fast for an end and, especially since he goes 260 compared to 245. A lot of teams can put out a hand timed 4.5 245 pound DE. That 40 time doesn't mean jack unless he can get of blocks, which I presume he can by the way you gush about him.

Brandon Hanna converted 3 years ago and is a senior.

Correct

I forgot the other one fell to the 6th round.

Btw, Reeds time was the 3rd best. The top one was a linebacker at Nevada. He must be an OLB/DE hybrid.

Montgomery is gonna run faster than Reed i guarantee it. Mingo is much faster. The main difference is, that we have two outside with speed and power, you can't run away from one.

What will he run? And what do Mingo and Adams run?

Montgomery and Mingo won't be ends at the next level unless they gain weight. If they gain weight, they will not be running 4.5s.

Oregon’s defense will be a more physical and athletic unit in 2011. They’ll play with more aggression. They may not even wait until they get off the bus before they start blitzing
I sure hope we fare better than we did against Von Miller and company. No, really...I hope we fare even better...

Speed and power: your coach said that Mingo will eventually be a premier pass rusher in the SEC. Mingo, from what your fans are saying, will be used situationally. Most likely, Adams or Edwards will be on the other side.
Also, I am not worried about it. Our ends will be the fastest in the Pac-10 and we get to practice against them.

Reed is actually gonna play Rush Linebacker in Houston.
But i agree Sammy and Mingo will probably be rush linebackers at the next level.

I'm asking what they run right now.

Sammy, I know your defense is fast. However, most here don't want to hear that Oregon is as well.
Our SAM backers could play WR, our ILB CLAY could be an RB at some schools, and our 210 pound rover will run a 4.4 or better at the combine. He is the fastest player outside of LaMike on the team.

Jordan our DE has a 4.58 at 6'7" 240, Hanna at 6'2" 240 has a recorded 4.5. We will be fine.
Posted on 8/15/11 at 12:23 am to bisonduck
No, they won't run that at the combine because I said so.
Posted on 8/15/11 at 12:24 am to bisonduck
Your defense speed doesn't matter. Ware is gonna run through them like they were well wide recievers
Posted on 8/15/11 at 12:25 am to MOT
MOT - Hanna won't be running that at the combine as DE. Jordan won't either if he bulks up.
