I don't get the down votes. I thought the same thing.

We were used to both of them breaking long runs last year. Even against SEC defenses.

Like you, I hope to see him break some long ones this year, even against good defenses.

We were a one dimensional offense on Saturday, BYU knew what was coming

I disagree with this. We may have relied on the run more because it was working for us, but the passing game was significant as well and certainly aided the running game.

Maybe he meant to say Guice was an allusion of himself?

I don't know the last time a good defense played a zone like that all game against LSU

I'm sure I'll be downvoted to oblivion but I don't get how people can think Guice is better than Fournette. I'd take Fournette over Guice all day everyday.

They're both stellar. I ain't pickin.

Although if I had to I may lean more to LF based on intangibles (leadership, etc) and also his running style was just fun as F to watch.

Also remember how many of his yards come late in the game after the defense is worn down. He didn't play in 4th quarter vs BYU (and not much in 3rd)

I just... don't understand the joy some of you people get from shiteposting. This guy has had several today. Is this how you spend your work day? Posting asanine stuff and seeing a community react to it? Is it fun when everyone rails on you? It has to be disheartening. Please go get some air, it's a beautiful day.

Guice looked amazing last week. BYU was playing to stop big plays. They knew if they loaded the box, he'd eventually break through and be gone. He would've sat the 2nd half with 250 yds and a fistful of touchdowns.

BYU had fewer guys in the box, which meant more tacklers downfield.

I couldn't believe they were ok with giving up 5 yards a play all the way down the field over and over.
It's like they had no interest in trying to win, just wanted to stay off of sportscenter and pretend it never happened

In retrospect did BYUs defense do so poorly? Forced many FG and limited big plays. I'd say relatively speaking their defensive game plan worked, it was their O against our D that had the really really bad matchup for them.

True, but not stacking the box is why we went on so many long drives, keeping our defense rested and their O from having a chance to develop any sort of rythm.

Eventually you have to drop down into the box and challenge the running game. We averaged 5.2 with a long of only 16.

I guess if they could have stopped some of those third down passes to Dillon that strategy could have been considered somewhat successful

Stop. He was hurt but he still wanted to play even though it was in the best interest of his NFL career to sit. That dude loved LSU.

Yeah because 27 rushes for 122 yards and 2 TDs isn't good enough. Sounds like you expect him to easily run for over 200/game.

IMO our accurate passing game probably prevented them from really doing that, we had like 8 completions for 1st down and several mid range passes and two long ones to keep them honest.
