First time to Houston Classic but not to MMP. Great baseball park. There's no bad seats. Think The Box with folding seats in bleachers down foul lines & outfield. Would be nice.
Only complaint was the concession lines. MMP just need to prepare better when LSU is invited.
Proud of the way our fans travel! I know MMP holds about 42,000. Just counting one section, looks like lower bowl holds about 16,000 from foul pole to foul pole. My guess is that LSU occupied about 45-50% of lower bowl on Fri & Sat
So thinking about 7000-7500 LSU fans. Anybody got a better count?
We will be back in future.

Probably more than the other five teams combined. Watching UH right now and I don't think there are 200 people there. This is definitely a pro sports town.

Friday night was more than 50% lsu fans. Would say closer to 60%. About 30% UH fans and the rest just general fans of baseball. I sat next to a UH fan that couldn't get over how well LSU traveled and supported their team.

Watched LSU and Aggies today. Froze my arse off with a shirt, sweater and a coat. Concessions were horrible. Two excellent ball games.

Auggiegreen, just curious. How many fans or better yet, what % of lower level was occupied? What % of that were Aggie fans and what % Baylor fans? We left after conclusion of LSU game.

Great time! Met up with my dad on Friday and sat with Kramer Robertson's dad (they were college buddies at La Tech), got to talk to him briefly after the game and the temperature in the ballpark wasn't as bad as I was expecting. Wish I could have come to every game. Really a blast!

just like you've been conditioned to. crane and co.s campaign to malign mr. McLane has worked with some people. you just can't accept crane doesn't know what the hell he's doing. having the first pick of the draft for half a decade may pull him out (IF he's actually learning something) but so far I ain't buying his mishandling of the " forced move" to the AL and all of the changes he's instilled. but the park is a fine place to watch baseball. thank god crane wasn't here to screw it up.

Thanks for arse-u-ming my mindset. Actually, I followed McLane's ownership pretty closely for almost 20 years. He was the owner when the park was built, hence the blame on him. He was also known to cut corners on everything even when given the appearance of spending.

As for Crane, he's run a cut-rate, bargain-basement, bottom-line-only operation and his GM doesn't know his arse from a hole in the ground when it comes to assessing major-league talent. That critical enough for you?

In the future, don't put words or thoughts in my mouth. Thanks.

Had a blast, I have to agree the only complaint we had was that Houston in general didn't understand how LSU Baseball travels.

Even the Home Plate grill was ill prepared on Saturday around 11:30 to get invaded by Tigers. Some poor aTm fans around us actually said, "thank goodness you guys aren't hostile. We can't believe how you travel!"

I was actually impressed that Nebraska had a pretty decent amount of fans today. As expected, A&M had plenty of folks. A little surprised Baylor didn't have more people Saturday and not surprised that Houston didn't have that many folks.

I saw one guy in Hawaii garb on the JumboTron today, and that was the only person I saw in such gear the last two days.

As a fellow Stros fan.....I wholeheartedly agree with that. It was awesome to see the Tigers in MMP. Like yourself though I love MMP.

To me anyone that enjoys MLB that lives in BR and especially Laffy that doesn't make the drive to see their fav team play the Stros (if they play) is crazy.

Although my biggest complaint is for downtown Houston in general. WTF can't they put some more shite down there to do. I get the area by Little Woodrow's has some OK bars, but it feels like there should be more to do within walking distance of MMP/the Westin. Downtown Houston sucks for the most part. It should be better....they are building a lot of what appears to be hotel/condo/appt infrastructure in the area.....what the hell are they going to sell those on? It certainly won't be shite to do/eat.

The lady friend and I made it to 5.3 games and really enjoyed everything. She saw a loaded potato during the second game, Friday and started jonesing for one almost immediately. She used to have them at Tiger Stadium until they discontinued them at Voodoo BBQ's stand. When she went to get one, they had just run out. She jokingly told the counter person that they had better save her one for Saturday or there would be consequences. Saturday comes and she goes to fetch her fix and they tell her they're out. She turns to leave and another lady stops her to say she just saw more potatoes being delivered. Makes her day because she got potatoes Saturday and Sunday. By the way, the MMP website says that Gallon ziplocks can be filled with snacks and brought in. We took advantage of this all 3 games. I had everything I needed for a good baseball weekend.

Like the last poster said you can bring in food in a gallon ziplock and bottles of water. Everytime I go an Astros game I bring in my $1.50 bag of peanuts. Rather pay $1.50 for a bag than $5.00.

They mentioned that on the broadcast, said there were a lot of upset LSU fans. I think they said it was because they had to close the roof and had to keep everyone out until then. Don't quote me on that.

I thought it was great. Saw all 3 LSU games. MMP was a great facility to watch baseball this weekend, especially with a roof for today's weather.

Parking around the stadium is easy and affordable $5 and free street parking on Sunday.

The concession lines may have been long, but the workers were doing their best to keep the line moving.

I had a great time and I hope LSU gets to do it again next season.

They closed it the previous two days in between games with the crowd in there.

I was not pissed they opened the gates at 10am. My complaint was they tried to funnel all the waiting crowd through 1 door to enter the stadium. They opened another entrance to the stadium near the main team store however they didn't bother to inform anyone. Luckily I know my way around the place and little after 10 walked up to the entrance and had no wait.

The Houston Classic is well put together and is an awesome experience. It comes down to the fact, they were not really prepared for the fans LSU brought to the games. In years past even with both A&M and Texas playing there was nowhere near that crowd and the staffing they had this weekend would have been more than adequate. In the future they know if LSU is coming they know what they need to do.
