Just ran into a friend who is an unusual hog fan.
He speaks in complete sentences, he is not related to his sister-wife, and he is highly knowledgable about SEC football and recruitiung.

I asked him his opinion of Les Miles
and to paraphrase he said,

"great coach" "stand-up guy" "Great face for the program" "Has instilled the same Can-Do attitude into his guys."

Had a message for us "62 wins in 6 seasons, his record speaks for itself. LSU fans (negatigers) need to shut up."

When asked if he would want Les Miles as his coach, he said, "Absolutely".

Thought this little interview was pretty telling

I also looked at his record and realized, he has LSU's best win percentage as a coach > nick saban
> Bill Ansparger and > Cholly mac.

Can't understand why we can't be happy with umprecedented quality in a head coach

Your data is 11 years old.

You never heard of the Great Flood of Spearfish, SD?

8,599 people were lost or relocated.

[quote]This thread is a great example of why so many Tiger fans will always be dissatisfied with Miles. They don't care that he wins. They care more about public and media perception of "us and our coach," and about what the talking heads say, and how many losses we "should" have, and how he interviews. Pop the Saban Tit out your mouths. Get real and grow up you D bags. You sound like a group of 8th grade girls. All worried about how they "look" to the media and other schools. Go get a pedicure and buy some skinny jeans little girlie men. The guy wins games differently. Is that so bad? It obviously works. You say he can't coach up our players to their potential? Tell that to Dorsey, Whitworth, Bowe, Doucet, Flynn, Ridley, Nevis, PP7, etc. He took a struggling offense 11-2 with schemes, trick plays, and defense. That's COACHING, admitting where your weaknesses are and finding ways to win despite them. But really, you many of you have gotten so accustomed to bitching it's probably all you know how to do. Do me a favor if your a season ticket holder; sell your tickets and stay home, and quit pretending to pull for a team you secretly wish would lose, you fakes. -end soapbox stance[/quote

Thanks for saying it so well!

I just got finished talking to my business manager and he really likes Mack Brown.

But I said, "If Mack Brown got fired and Miles Got hired what would you say." He said, "I would be excited"

Then he said, "If there were any five coaches to choose from I would pick Miles."

Think sometimes an outsider view is more telling of the truth.

Most people in Texas also voted for G.W. Regardless of politcal beliefs he wasn't a great speaker and came off stupid. Just my observations.

Les Miles is a fricking GENIUS! He is so smart, he's got every coach, sportswriter, blogger, and Non-Tiger fan (and some so-called Tiger fans) convinced that he is a complete fricking blithering idiot.

And then the media-darling, so-called coaching "gurus" like Sabin, Meyer, Tressel, Stoups, Spurrier, Beamer, etc., etc., etc. walk away with their dicks in the dirt and wonder, "How do I keep losing to this dumbass?"

Very Baseless statement. People vote based on their political belief, and fyi, most people in Louisiana voted for Bush too.

Belongs on the Poli board if anywhere

You might want to look where he stands among coaches all-time in the SEC (among coaches with more than a couple of seasons). At least since the Neyland Era (circa 1952), he stands behind only Neyland, Bryant, Spurrier (at Fla.), and Meyer. Not bad company.

LSU in the last 6 seasons has the best SEC West mark of any and is 2nd only to 2-time BCS champ Florida and that by 3 wins.

The LSU 28-1 OOC mark is the best in the SEC for the last 6 seasons.

The LSU winning percentage among BCS schools for the last 6 seasons puts LSU in the Top 5.

I'm not going to research it, but I gotta think a 5-1 bowl record has to be bout as good as it gets for the last 6 seasons and I know 4 Top 8 finishes in the last 6 years is the best the SEC has seen.

Like the man or not, want more SEC titles, or want another NC, but Miles is walkin' in some mighty high cotton.
